Always thought these were 17s

They look to me like 17 inch sized inners with a step up barrel to 18 inch. Though the they're that was on it can confirm what size if gray still has?

I've totally forgot what size tyres were on the bloody thing lol

I might still have the tyres...if we haven't shredded them and sent them out to some playground some where lol

I'll have a look tomorrow when I'm back at site.

Is the width a secret then?????:tt2:

Right so 17" you were correct. I would keep the 45 sidewall and it looks like 275 width? You could fit a 285 on it by the looks of things.

Some old pictures I took.

Cheers Tom,think the tyres I have taken of might of been destroyed, and my memory these days is terrible.

Thinking of it I'll take one wheels to the garage today see what they say about size:)

All you need to do is advise us on what the width of the wheel is. It's likely to be stamped somewhere on the inward facing part of the wheel, usually on the hub face or behind the centre cap on the outward facing part of the wheel.

Ok...after a lot of searching we found my old tyres, the wheels were fitted with two different tyres, Avon zzr1 x2 and sunny sn3900 x2? None of which are going back on,sizes were all the same...(235/45/17)..so thinking after reading reviews on some new tyres I'm going for earthier Michelin pilots sports or Pirelli p zero's....so do I stay with 235 widths on all four,or can I put 235 front and put wider on the rear? Could I push the rear up to 245's or 255's for better grip?

My fronts are 235/40/17, my rears are 255/40/17 but the wheels are staggered.

Yes this is what I mean can I do this without the wheels being staggered? Or do I have to keep them all the same size?

While your on Andy do you have any rear lights and centre panals for sale mate?

Well we still don't know your wheel width, but there is some leeway in fitting larger tyres.

I would keep the 45 sidewall.

You can do bigger tyres on the back marginely, or you could fit the wider ones all the way around..

(PS. There are some impul R1s (BBS collaboration) that came on eBay today if you are tempted, but not likely any wider than your wheels.)

And lights NO [emoji14]

Mines been lowered with a nice set of Azevs fronts are 8.0 225/40/18 and the rears are 10.0 255/35/18 I wouldn't go pass 255 width at the back if it's sitting low other wise it will catch, here's a picture of mine not the best angle

You could stick a slightly wider tyre on the back but the sidewall will obviously look a bit different. I used this guide when I was picking mine. My wheels are 8" at the front and 8.5" rears so I went with 225 at the front and 245 at the rear

Hi Graham,

Based on that, and that the rim widths are not staggered, best stick with as close to the original rolling diameters as best as possible. I'd go for 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear - they will complement each other as best as possible!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Still love those Azevs.....

With your rim sizes mate, you'd still get a 265 on the rear - my Zed is slightly lowered on Meister-R coilovers and I run 235/40/18 fronts plus 265/35/18 rears; without issues!

Thanks, will try and get some proper pics up when I get it washed, I did have 265 as a tester and it used to catch sometimes only because it low at the back

Maybe your offsets are not optimised for the 10J

255 is on the rather small end of 10 inch wheels.
