I'm back..... with a working series one Consult to play with....

Hi everyone, been away for a while concentrating on family and work for a while as the Z funds ran dry...

I managed to procure an original Nissan Consult unit and have successfully repaired it over the past month or so....

If anyone locally needs to use it then let me know if I can help..... and you can either pop round or I maybe able to come to you....

Getting ready to swap out the faulty auto box, transmission ECU and prop shaft when the weather picks up....

Paint maybe a while off yet.......

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Best wishes for you mate, and do stay away from said light....

Think happy thoughts about the z and the next job to tackle on it.:thumbup1:

What a day!

Theatre time was brought forward, what a panic.

For some reason the first patient failed to qualify.

Anyway, could not get fully anaesthetised prior to surgery, surgeon needed some ongoing feedback.

However, I became so uncomfortable during the process that he increased the sedation to such a degree l was totally unaware of what was going on anyway.

After 3 hours I was back on the ward, but totally oblivious of what was going on.

After another couple of hours, I was sort of back in the real world with my wife and daughter at my bedside.

What could be better, all was going so well, or so I thought.

The next couple of hours were to be a little different.

Firstly, the wounds at the point of entry at the groin decided to give way, not a pretty sight.

Once the nursing staff had remedied this, all appeared to be well, or so I thought.

What happened next was quite a shock, frightening to be honest.

I suffered 2 nigh on cardiac arrests with blood pressures around 65/40 on both cases.

As you can imagine, hearing the words "stay with us David" are not a sentence I care to relive.

Anyway, after several hours of monitoring, to my surprise they have let me come home.

A bit nervous to be honest, as I am still finding it difficult to breath without a high level of discomfort, only to be expected I guess.

Hopefully things will return to some sort of normality tomorrow, just hope I can get some sleep.

Ps. Meant to add, after an ultrasound just before release, they tell me I know have excess fluid in the pericardium and a leaky valve! Great.

I think I will have to ring tomorrow if things do not improve

OMG what a nightmare, thank god your ok. Can't imagine what your wife and daughters felt, as they say it's not your time yet. Plenty of rest and let your body heal.

All the best take care.

Speedy recovery, would scare anyone, could be everything is fine & just the post op discomfort?

Just a little update..

Breathing issues and chest pains have eased quite considerably.

Incisions seem to be healing nicely, albeit still quite painful. (only to be expected I guess.)

Even managing to sleep through.

Anyway, I initially thought of thanking everyone for their kind words collectively, but have tried to reply on an individual basis.

Best wishes mate! Keep us updated with your progress please!

Cheers Si'

Well, initially Russ, things were going well, but unfortunately not for long.

After a promising start, and a much improved feeling of well being, it appears that the surgery has failed.

This is not unheard of however, the success rate is only 80%, approximately.

So, in 3 weeks time, I will have to undergo more internal heart surgery.

In the meantime, they have doubled my medication so as to try and manage the condition.

Bummer.

Hopefully you are fairing better, are you still on the mend?
