Go OEM is my advice, i've had a MAF derp out and was just china rubbish, and lots of other people have too, but shop around, I wouldn't spend £200 on a MAF either.

Hi James.

Don't know if I dare ask!

What's wrong with the car that makes you think you need a new MAF?

Nothing major, it just felt a bit "lumpy" on idle, revs were pitching up and down a bit. Jim had a new MAF available to test with, put it on and the difference was definitely noticeable. Current MAF still works just not 100%, figured I might as well follow in your footsteps on how to treat jobs on the car! ;)

Kind regards,

James

Just be that dick :whistling: Technically the whole car is "Far East rubbish" With that and the fact China makes everything including high quality products Samsung, Apple etc, possibly better to say cheaply made copies.

Is there someone close who has a diagnostics consult.

Like what's been said cheap one off eBay stay clear!

Art FYI he took it to Jimmer and diagnosed it, then tried it with Jims spare maf which worked.

A second hand OEM one would be an option, but I don't know if they die over time.

"Avoid eBay 'new' MAFS which are far east rubbish" in no way implies ALL products from the far east are rubbish.

And they are rubbish - they don't work properly and fail early.

That's proven fact. Just joshing you about.

Jeff TT, Si ?

I met Mark a few months ago in Nottingham at his place.

He made me very welcome & very helpful.
