Not sure where you are in the country mate but if you want to plug it in and see if there's a problem then I've got the full conzult program here ready to go. I've also got the resistors here to cure the problem too if it is the knock sensor loom.

Offers there mate, if it's any good for you then give me a shout.

Hello mate,

Only just come back to this topic and noticed your comment - I'm in Bedford off the a6 so not far from Luton at all. Cars been in safety mode for at least 9 months now and I'm sure the loom is faulty - would appreciate if I could take you up on this offer if you've still got the consult program.

Cheers

No problem at all sav..

I still have the program and will be happy to help you out if I can. Will you be able to get the car to me or do you want me to come to you?

If you want to pm me your number or give me a call on 07900887433 anytime after midday weekdays or anytime on a weekend and we can sort out a convenient time and place and see if we can find out what's killing your joy!

Cheers

what colour is it cant make it out satin gray

need to see in the light its really hard to tell in the dark

Is it permanently in safety mode? If so, it will likely be the loom section for the knock sensor.

If it returns to full boost after power cycling the ECU (posh words for turning off & on again), then your knock sensor could be detecting knock, which in turn could be genuine or spurious.

I have a feeling my Zed is also in a safety mode - either that or I have a huge boost leak (and i can't detect anything). Aftermarket boost gauge reads around -.3bar on full acceleration and stock boost gauge reads just a bit more than than 0. Somethings up!

Where is the knock sensor (at the back of the engine?) and how do I access it to check the loom? Can the knock sensor be removed?

Cheers

Greg

What suspension are you running on the rear 300 zx aly. ? How are you stopping the wheels grounding out ? I ask because I had Bodymech do the same mod to my car and now i find that the stroke length of the teins means that sometimes the wheels scrub. I have about a 2 inch gap from the tyre to the inside of the arch and am stuck now on how to cure the grounding issue.

Sounds like a soft spring rate with 2" of travel.

If I change to new tein followers do you think that would cure it ? Or do I need to use something with adjustable stroke. And if so what do I need to look for ?
