It's not that no one likes the Z31 it's just that in the main there are tatty things, it's so rare to see a good one. There used to be a black swb one in zclub, the difference between 2+2s and 2+0s in the Z31 is FAR more noticeable. Sadly a swb z31 is really very rare here. Lowered on the right wheels they look great! Stock with bits of trim missing and shoddy paint they look er no thanks.

You can say exactly the same of the Z32.

I have to say I am not a fan, but it looks clean...... Too angular for me.... I prefer the lines of the 240, 260 or Z32

They remind me of the Mitsubishi Starion and the MR2....

But this one is more my liking - plqubuyksohndsrkc50m.jpg

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

I like it, but then I also like the Starion and MR2!

These cars are all before my time so it's not just nostalgia.

Tell me again how you don't like the Z31...

i certainly dont like them in NA auto 2+2 form.

A dull and sluggish piece of 80s design with nothing of the classic lines of its older family Zs

That is of course a mint example but I wouldnt drive about in it even if you gave it to me.

I did have a 2+2 early turbo manual for a few months so my opinion is based on some knowledge.

Ultimately its just my opinion tho. The model does have a following.

For me it is the only that looks dated. All the others from the Z32 backwards have stood the test of time.

Nice example but doesn't do anything for me. Despite the production numbers I feel that Nissan had lost its Z way

with the Z31 - safe but with dull styling and engineering that was by now no more than 'good enough'.

The interior says it all really:

Did you ring him Jay? See how much he's looking for it!

No, I'm not in a position to buy. I'd love a facelift Z31 (200ZR particularly) if I had the room for it!

I wouldn't say entirely "safe" - they did try some new ideas like a digital dash (optional I think).

You could get the Maestro with a digital dash. It was a phase that most manufacturers went through in the 80s. The digital dash actually pre-dates the Z31 as it was an option in the 280zx.

I quite like the Z31, but it needs a real helping hand in the wheel/stance/suspension department.

I like the z31, but it has to be the facelift model. I think the design is all kinds of 80's cool.

My neighbor has one, just to bad he likes the drugs more than actual work and stuff that might have kept this on the road... Refuses to sell it too which is even more of a shame as it deserves to be with someone who wants to restore this, not sit outdoors all year round, rain or shine...

You are of corse correct, I think the z31 suffers worse from it though. A pretty girl with a hangover is one thing, a minger who scrubs up, well you understand

You kid but people like that will sell a kidney when they need the cash. We've all seen them in cash converters selling the kids DVDs for 3p each.

I really don't like them there to square and bland, mk3 supra easily won that battle

I've seen them try to sell the kids for 50p each......... lol

Ah they wouldn't do that hear, they would loose the child tax credits. They would charge 50p to borrow their kid and claim it as another credit.

I agree there Andrew....

....I liked the Z31 as a teenager back in the day - especially after Bruce Willis drove one in the movie "Blind Date!" The Z32 was still in development stages - and Toyota came out with the Mk3 Supra which, despite a similar "1980s Japanese interior," was a far superior car to the Z31 in every way...!

Nonetheless, it is a fine example; just not for me.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
