Pretty sure you have rods and levers inside that. You'd need to add the servos, a loom and an ECU.

Why do you want to change it Ian?

It might be because I asked about it when I went in his two zeds, and saw the later ones didn't have climate control. Seed planted. :)

You need the full early series loom to go with the digital pod and replace it all.

I looked at it, but figured it was more true to my car to leave it manual. Besides, I like being different.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

I like mine as well - true to year as you say and it's 99 spec :thumbup1:.

Im not looking to change it just for the hell of it, i'm having issues with the blower at the moment, i'm hoping its a relay issue but if its not you don't see many of these units come up second hand, if I needed to replace it I might have a struggle on my hands. I wondered if the digi unit would do the job as e temp fix until I got another unit.

Like I say im hoping its just a relay issue. If you change the blower speed I can hear clicking from the passenger kick plate relays, and sometimes from the drivers kick plate side, looking at the manual it seems there are 3 blower relays 1 on the passenger side and 2 on the drives side, i'm hoping its one of those. All the air direction functions seem to be OK recirc and air con buttons function OK its just the blower. It works intermittently for about 30 seconds then goes off for long periods, not good in this cold weather.

Its a big ass task to do and its a complete strip down internally to the bulk head.

Also mind since your taking the aircon parts out they will need to be degassed safely and refilled.

I think i'm the only one known to successfully do it so I can be done but you will have to get donor

parts like the blower, loom, ecu, pods from another breaker as they are all different.

Also good chance that the door looms will be wrong too as mine were and I had to mess about matching

the connections to get everything working.

So is that a 'late model' heater control setup then or what?! My 99 spec has digital controls. Has it been converted?

It was an option on the later cars Baz

Looks like a session with the fuse boxe ohhh joy. With my knees that could be beyond funny.

My guess Ian it's just the contacts in the pod itself, putting one of my known working pods in will shed light.

just wondering can you change the digital one to a manual one I hate the digital one would love a manual you

Not worth it Dan stick with what you have.

that's a shame the day I drove the car back when I got it the first thing I was thinking was would like a manual one not keen on the digital one can never seem to get the heating in the set rite

If I manage to get a late zed with manual controls, I'd swap with you. I'd do all the swapping myself too. :)
