hey all, whilst on the lookout for the right TT zed I have been dreaming up the perfect modifications, and was wondering weather or not their good or not worth it

so here goes:

full 350z brembo discs and calipers (custom made mounting brackets)

stock turbo internals uprated (billet or whatevers out there)

15psi boost jets from z1 ( http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=3082)

HKS BOV's with recirc (removal of stock recirc)

EGR Delete

are any of these a good idea for my next potential victim or not?

obviously the exhaust and air intake will be changed (Longlife and JWT)

Thanks all, Jamie

Hi you don't need custom brackets for 350z calipers just need to make holes bigger in the hub...

Don't use boost jets, they're a waste of money, incredibly outdated and not adjustable. If you insist though, buy some welding tips in the UK for a couple of quid.

I am biased as I manufacture & sell manual boost controllers, but there's a reason I sell them and not boost jets :)

Turbo-wise, it really depends on what you are after from the car. I am a massive advocate of pushing the stock items as the torque response is truly out of this world. 481lb·ft @ 3900rpm with Auto turbos (AR 0.56) peaking at 1.7 bar. Do not bother with the GTX line of billet-wheeled turbos unless you are prepared to spec the engine to handle and be able to produce 2+ bar of boost pressure from the turbos.

No need for HKS BOVs.

The only thing bovs do is make a noise. (Possibly useful performance aid if you're shooting for 1000bhp)

I'd listen to this chap, he knows a think or two about the subject. I might be so bold as to say that a proper tube will net you greater results and reliability than an off the shelf chip. Were you looking at Z1s "400hp package"?

He says he's fitting the full 350z brake setup. The rear calipers do require proper modification or bracket work to fit.

Yeah, if you're changing anything from stock looking... Avoid funkysi like the plague:gunsmilie:

In regards to BOV's. I have had some on the car for years and years, even though I've always loved them and they sound good, they're pointless really. No performance enhancement or anything. In fact, I'd dare say they make the car not as smooth when changing gears. I'm looking to go back to recircs to see the difference

Thanks all. I was only thinking of a compressor and turbibe upgrade for that extra bit of umph.

and i only really wanted bovs for the noise haha. And ill probably end up getting a manual controller then :)

I was looking at the z1 package too

i just want a decent reliable upgrade. And to increase efficiancy

Stock turbo's are fine, lots of other mods to do before you need to worry about changing them. Also, changing them is engine out so gets expensive quickly from a labour perspective

yeah true that, im looking out for a good one, ideally a 93> tt manual, would prefer a swb but its not compulsory, oh and pearl white, or any colour if I can get it cheap enough, and then have it resprayed.

Longlife exhausts wouldnt be my first choice chap,Look up infinity in Bath.Made some amazing systems for some cars ive worked on,really top drawer.

Might stand corrected but UK models don't come in pearl white!

Mine is pearl white & think I like it, a lot :)

Why else a Z?

must admit that she is a beauty!

and the longlife by me is top notch, they make most of the custom systems in s/w wales, thanks for the recommendation on infiniti, i'll start doing some homework on them.

Yeah, as with BOVs, avoid Longlife and particularly Powerflow like the plague.

Don't limit yourself on a car of this type. Earlier versions are just as good. Paramount should be 'overall condition'. Be cautious of anything with a bodykit as they can often harbour rust issues.
