Found 99 spec indicators on the z centres website, logged in to pay and the price jumped £14.. Any ideas ? Is the site slow to update prices or what ?

Think it's tax & postage. I bought a set of front stubby water hoses that doubled in price with tax & postage. Postage was £8.

No not even in the basket , like now when I search the site for em they are listed at the higher price, yet they have been at £72 all week ... Strange , had them in my basket at £72, logged in and it's as if the site has updated in the short time it took me to log in

Think your right actually .. Had a look and it's £14 quid tax ... Plus postage is near £100 .. Not paying that

Did you call him? Website doesn't list what he sells. If it's still available from Japan then he can sell them.

Yea I understand that now, original post was down to confusion from not using the site before .. Lexx no I just checked the site, will call him Monday then cheers ;)

Really grinds my gears when websites advertise prices excluding VAT only to sneakily slap it on later. You can't do it in a shop why the hell is is it acceptable on the internet.

Yup it's a big pet hate of mine... Just tell me what's coming out my pocket and not an irrelevant number

1st time i used the site i wondered what was going on,

But all the car part shops do it if i phone up for anything they tell me the price and It's all ways plus vat,

And he adds postage,

Normally i call him if i buy more then 1 thing cause he will sometimes ship bits together but if you buy on the computer it does it automatically...

Managed to get em cheaper posted from America

Nearly always the case! Sadly. And often parts are always in stock, so arrive quicker.

MJP is a great resource as he has a huge knowledge base to help and he's very reasonable. Sometimes it's worth enquiring at the main dealer, sometimes, there often not very helpful and often rather expensive but many bits are available next day. Can be a life saver for basics like oil filters etc.

i have found the z centre to be pretty good stuff turns up fast no messin around isn't the cheapest place to shop but lets face it the z32 isn't the cheap car to run

It's always been the norm when dealing with trade suppliers but if it's a retailer they should should really state the price inclusive of VAT

Remember you will pay 20% vat on arrival in the UK on the US price AND shipping plus £8 to £10 handling fee depending who is shipping.

I have recently made a couple of orders from a well known US supplier and I can tell you it works out A LOT cheaper. Obviously it works better to make a bulk order for the shipping to be viable, but even that is reasonable.

On both occasions they also marked down the value of my order without being asked to make the import duties cheaper. I know about the insurance implications of that.

My last import bill including the handling charges was just £24. The order value was significant.

Exactly that, in Travis Perkins you expect it but in B&Q you would not.

They dont always understate the value.... some shippers- UPS for one, collect duty/ taxes on behalf of Uk govt. They contact you when they have your package and bill you duty/taxes before delivery so not always guaranteed to make big savings. (Courtesy nissan always used UPS when I bought stuff)

i dont always pay vat on stuff i get from the states. just had 2 shipments come in and all i had to pay where the handling fees. which i dont mind.
