Are the down pipes 4 or 5 bolt? That night help you narrow down what to get

I think they're 4-bolts, assuming he's bought them off the same guy I was chatting to recently on FB.

Some pics as and when i can get the uploaded.and yes Noel your rihht and it was Ian of whom i bougjt them of .

Ams 3" down pipes and Z1 3" rest pipes. Oh and some 2 to 2.5" custom built outlet pipes with a port for the iacv.in.

Just need some more 2.5" pipe work now all the way to the fmic.pics will come soon .when i can get a good enough signall.

sticking to a stock turbo then, or sport 500's? anything bigger is 5bolt...

GSP600s I'm betting.

ahh, didn't realise they were still 4 bolt. Anyway, sounds like the OP has finally decided on a setup :)

Collective sigh of relief can be heard emanating from Zeds nationwide

Just about decided yes. And the GSP600. Looks like a good option for me. Never going to be on a track just cruising about with the very odd occassion with me right foot planted. Then there Marks darbeys option .of whom fitted some strong hybrids and we are waiting for some rolling road figures from Gordies car. Tell then im now on the hunt gor some 2.5" pipework.to replace all that 2". Anyone got any. And upwards of 615cc or more injectors.

just out of interest what are the pros and cons of having a 3 inch down pipe then going down to 2,5. over going 3inch from down pipe rite the way thro the whole system to the tail pipes ?

Let see if i get this right.and if not ill soon be corrected im sure. Firstly i must have miss lead people buy the post above.i now have or will when they turn up. 3" down pipes. And 3" test pipes.test pipes are called that cas they do not have any cats in them.from there im going to see if i can get the rest made up custom job 3" right through to the single exit i have. Most or at least alot of poeple go from the3" down pipes to the 2.5" test pipes and beyound. The reson for this so i understand is.the 3" dps help get rid of the gasses quicker and you get quicker responce and better for your turbo perfomance in the lower to mid range.going for 3" right through will see gains at the top end as well. But unless your tracking it it a unesserary cost. That said also unless you have very nice neibours like i do and do not live in a built up area there going to sound bloody loud but ausome to..

the test pipe was there so i took it otherwise i would have gone straight to 2.5" from my dps.but waste not want not.

As for the other 2.5" pipe i was talking about.well i was saying i have now got the fist part of the 2.5" tub outlet pipe from the tubs. These pipes are norm 2" standered. But going up to 2.5 " will help the tub spool quicker and draw more air mass more easy than sucking from a 2" standered set up.but this is i think quite exspensive i think.but again he wasnt making use of it cas his going over to a single tub setup so i had that as well. I hope i explaned well enough and the right information.

AMS you say? Woops! Have fun fitting those!

Hrm...I'm sure it will be fine. Lots of people have those without issue.

You getting confused with the fannymoulds? They're relatively good in terms of quality and fitment.

There are issues with those too tbh. But many parts are generally ok, the bad publicity of there "little" cock ups and their way of handing it afterwards is the kicker. They make SOME ok bits, you get what you pay for and their stuff is cheap.

It's just Chinese stuff isn't it? No point making it when you can buy it in for pennies

Pretty much. I just think it's hilarious how two companies can both buy the same parts from the same Chinese manufacturer one sells cheap but pays little attention to quality control the other charges double or triple and choose to paint it a different colour. The former gets slagged to hell and the second is considered a quality product :s it's the shame shit just a different colour!? The other one that is laughable is, china can't make quality. Yes they can they make near on ******* everything.

There is no upside to reducing exhaust diameter downstream on a turbocharged car. Bigger is better, all that matters is aiding turbo spool and you do that by offering as little resistance as possible after the turbine housing when it comes to exhaust consideration.

so on turbo cars bigger is better I did plan on going 3inch all the way like. would like to get the car to about 650 to 690 bhp at the crank. I know from past messing about on na cars that bigger systems wasn't always better in fact I lost power on a car few years ago after going to big I take it the rules for turbo cars are not the same then

Yes, there's no need to take scavenging into consideration with turbocharged cars. 3" all the way for your power goals.
