I'm debating on fitting recirc valves back on to the zed (still unsure) where I currently have Apexi twin chamber BOV's.

What I'm wondering is whether I should just be a straight forward swap or if there's a possibility of stuff missing?

As I said on your facebook, if you've got all the pipework, you'll be fine. Ditch those silly BOVs! :)

That's what I'm asking, whether I should have all the pipe work mate

Ill take pictures tomorrow. But in short they go where the old recircs go.

Basically, I need to know how the recircs would look in situ

It's basically like this. http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/tech/bov/bov.html

Reading it, I'm guessing one of the pipes will have just been blocked off but would need to make sure I'm putting the right pipes In the right places

Thanks Andrew. The air line that's on the top of the recirc - I'm guessing it'll be the same one that goes on the end of the BOV?

Thanks Andrew.

I'll try and look to put them in at some point. It there a way of checking whether the recircs are in good condition or not or is there little that can be wrong?

Right. So went out to try and fit the recirc today and found I had 2 of the same side... Doh.

Anyway, I also noticed that the half circle shaped pipes have been cut down for the bungs in the BOV kit to Block that pipe off.

So does anyone have the part numbers for these 2 rubber pipes?

Also, does anyone know what correct screws/bolts are for the recircs to bolt on to the car?

Thanks,

Lee

I would have though you could get those off a breaker. They should be OK s/h as they are away from the engine bay heat.

I can't be sure, but I think the bolts are the standard Nissan hex head 6mm of the type used all over the car.

Lee, Is it part numbers 26 and 42 you need from Andrews diagram???

If so I can have a gander through my boxes of bits as I am sure I had spares of them when building mine......

If I have them your welcome to them.....

Hi Lee, been through entire garage and couldn't even find my spare set of oem recircs...... guessing they went to the tip along with my other bits when the father in law tried to help tidy my garage whilst I wasn't here.....

Sorry Bud.......

Hi Russ,

No worries mate. Ill ask a couple of people who are breaking cars or maybe just buy em new as I believe they're fairly cheap pipes

Right, I've done it. Fitted the recircs. Pita job quite frankly.

Not seen any benefit though as the car still wants to stall... So there's obviously something else a miss

Even though you imply your Zed was stalling before changing back to the recircs, air leaks are the most common cause of a stalling engine Lee.

Go round checking all hoses that the clips are seated correctly and then check for tightness, including those going to the intercooler, especially if after market. Lastly check all vac lines.

Ideally if you can get your hands on a boost leak checker, quicker and easier job.

Once satisfied there are no leaks, you can look what other issue may cause it.

Yeah, I've struggled finding leaks (previously) so thought it may have been the BOVs so I decided to have a go with the recircs. As a test if nothing else as I've heard people would sometimes get stalling issues with BOV's. Obviously wasn't that lol.

I do have a boost leak plug so will have to try that again and see if I can find what's going on. I found a leak on the drivers turbo inlet pipe the last time and haven't done another test yet. I'm looking to do one ASAP though.
