Anywhere..i put mine up by the battery but more importantly try make all the lines equal length even iff you curl the short runs to keep em tidy.

But attach the valve to which hoses?

And another wee thing, how in the hell do you get the boost jets out of the small hoses they are in, just spent half an hour trying to move them, but no joy!

What do these manual boost controller valves that Noz sells looks like?

regular brass T piece body with an 8mm hex head bolt to preload the ball and spring....the great part of Noels kit is that its not just a bleed valve that delays the boost signal but actually has a spring loaded ball bearing that does not come off its seat untill the pre-set boost is acheived. Great bit of kit.

Also featuring a bespoke spring with a high spring constant giving a large adjustment range (I run up to 2 bar on my Pulsar) and minimal spiking, plus a lightweight delrin ball bearing :D

I've never thought to offer a complete kit for fitting to a Zed, sorry!

Remove the actuator lines from the intercooler pipework and route them both to the bulkhead. There should be about 6" between the open ends. You'll need some vac hose (5mm), 2 joiners and a tee (both 6mm or 1/4") for the actuator side. I usually come off the balance bar where the stock boost gauge is attached for the pressure reference and the MBC situated nearby. This keeps all vac lines as short as possible.

^^ Slightly different brass body now than that pic and with PTFE tape on the adjusting bolt.

here is how I did mine there is a neater way to do this job but mine was just set up for function not looks as it was just temp anyhow as the engine is going out for rebuild if you look at the pics you get a idea of how it work SDC12452.jpg

Don't take the little ones out they are there from factory. They are part of the safety boost feature.

It had boost jets installed at Zed world a few years ago, it is these I want to remove?

Dan are those hoses which you removed from the intercooler piping the same ones that house the boost jets?

Please excuse me it that sounds a silly question, but want to be 100% sure, there are so many hoses in the Zed engine bay.

Would you happen to have any pics handy mate, I'm not sure where the stock boost gauge attaches at the balance bar?

Top left of the engine bay (driver's side). There is a black rectangular box with a vac hose going to the underside of it :)

yes them pipes

Ok that's good.

What happens with the place that they previously connected to, do I blank them off?

And still need a method to remove the boost jets?

Ok that's good.

iff fitted up the rad end then there should be enough slack in the piping to pull up a tad and cut the tip ends off..

no you put a pipe on the nipple then that goes to the boost controller then from the boost controller to the pipes you unplugged

I will try make a video for you tomoz and follew the pipe work so you can see

Can you not simply cut the end of the pipe off that contains the boost jets / welding tips? Assuming the pipe is long enough to connect back to its original point.

Otherwise can you screw a self tapper into the end of the jet which will then give you something to pull them out with? A bit of WD40 may help.

You might need to drill a bigger hole (3mm?) into the jet before a self tapper will go.

A when you said little hoses I thought you were in about the ones near the waste gate.

Yes, blank off the nipples near the radiator, one on each side situated on the underside of intercooler pipes leading to the throttle bodies. Near side easier than off side. I have blanking plugs here, or use a short length of vac line & a bolt.

Remove the boost jets using long-nosed pliers if possible, or simply cut the pipes down and make up the loss with fresh vac hose. Refer to post #7 for the easiest & neatest solution regarding pipework which is my installation method.

I'd take pics for you, but my car is 130 miles away.

Thanks for the help guys.

I've ordered some hose, clips, etc so once they are here will get them sorted.

Also have a boost gauge to install as well, then it will be ready to set the boost correctly, then get a remap once I get some more cash :)

I don't have any hoses/clips/t pieces yet but started the wee job today.

Removed the wee hoses that attach to the metal intercooler hoses and cut off the boost jets, then re-routed the hoses upto the bulkhead, so will need much less hose than I thought as I will keep the hoses as short as possible as suggested by Noz.

Just need the other bits to arrive then I can install the MBC, will also install the boost gauge at the same time, does this attach to the same hose I will be putting the MBC onto can anyone tell me?
