A couple of weeks ago, I took the Z down to Glastonbury to see my parents. As I was driving down Glastonbury High Street, a woman stepped out between 2 parked cars just as I drove past her. There was an almighty bang, I didn't even have time to brake. Well I pulled over and a nice family had gone to her aid. She was sat on the floor with a badly bruised leg, but was ok. The lady was Spanish and had looked the wrong way, saw that it was clear and just stepped right into the road at the wrong time!

We spent some time making sure she was ok and she apologised for it and took full responsibility, she was quite a sweet lady and we made sure she could walk around and didn't have shock. No real damage to the Z other than plastic lines/marks up the side of the car which polished out.

Shook me up a bit though!

However upon driving back to Portishead though, noticed that my mirror was vibrating. Managed to take it off yesterday as I am doing other things to the car to discover that the impact had broken the cast aluminium mount inside the mirror where the motor sits on.

Not really the right section, but whilst we're talking about it, does anyone have a spare passenger mirror chassis? I really don't care for the state of the mirror, just the chassis.

That would be awesome! Just the chassis, I don't need the base or the plastics. :)

Awesome! Let me know how much you want and I'll paypal you some money. It's just the passenger side one I need and it needs to be from a JDM vehicle with the electro-folding mirrors.

Is the part for a UK mirror the same? If so I have one, would save dismantling a complete unit.

I think they're different as they are part of the motor-base on the electro-fold mechanism. I'll have a mess about to see if they're detachable.

They're not detachable, they're pressed into the motor housing. Thanks anyway.

It will be free...if I still have one...

Wierd thing is that when i started reading the first post my initial reaction was "hope the Zeds ok?"

How bad is that :(

Peter

You know as bad as this sounds, after I'd hit her, my first thought was 'shit my car' - it all happened so quickly, I wasn't entirely sure what had happened, I had to physically refrain from looking at it when I got out to see if there was any damage and went straight over to the woman. After we'd made sure she was ok, I walked back to the Z and give it a quick look down expecting to see the bumper turned inside out....but nothing. Both she and I were really lucky. She could have ended up under the wheels and/or I could have had a ruined front end.

I've never hit a human before.

I am glad that the women is ok. And whats more i am glad to see your car is ok apart from the mirror. However the fact that you drove past her, then how the hell did you hit her? I know my grammer is bad, but that statment does not make sense. Please change your statement. many thanks. Love you.
