So its finally happening after been off the road for well over a year the zed is on Target for its refurbishment.

Last year I started with doing all the underbody suspension stuff to make the ride more stable and after that

I decided I wanted to do a full strip down to the bare shell and start from scratch to create a show quality z32.

After much bad luck and many thousands of pounds wasted on rotted zeds i'm cracking on with the original plan.

So as a quick update i'll post some older picks followed over the next few weeks by an overall progress report.

Starting off with how she was when I first purchased her 3 years ago until the state she is now then showing the

strip down and all the bad luck I've had.

So here she is as I bought her :

Rear quarters aren't too bad, they just take a bit of time; you need to cut them out from the inside. Get a thin, but strong and very sharp long knife and fill a little pump dispenser with soapy water to act as lube and cut the bond from the inside. Takes about 15-20 minutes to do. You do this with the interior panels removed too.

Looks like you have miss matched glass though? You gonna sort that? Side windows are blue, rear quarters and tailgate look bronze.

Don't worry about the clips, they're for manufacture purposes, the only clips you'll need are the ones that clip to the bottom of the glass anyway that secure the trim.

Rear glass takes time. My glass guy says it's not easy, again, hack through the clips, you won't need them. My glass guy has a neat little tool called a Webosaw or something. Look through my repaint thread.

nice

No idea what's in those, I'd say suspension but I thought you had driftworks stuff already.

I had the japspeed system then you first fit it for the first flew time out in the car you think it s a bit loud but after the back boxes filling beds in the sound is very nice. for the cheap cost of this system its a really bargain and looks nice

Progress has been slow but finally getting some more jobs done.

Took the best bit of two hours to get the rear glass out as the tool / wire we were using kept snapping.

Eventually discovered that we missed two clips that were in the corners :

But with the glass finally out the work can be started to prep the tailgate.

Also at the same time another guy was doing my doors and was in the process of adding the lower filler panel.

And after the glass was out I test fitted my new rear japspec bumper and also cleaned all the old goo from the light areas.

Looking a bit bare here but at least the progress is moving now.

So I've two more tailgates out the back and now I know how to get the glass out

i'm thinking of taking one of the better glasses out the other tailgate.

I see a kit similar to what I used in the garage on ebay but is £25 cheap or should I

get a better one.

Make sure you check the grade of tint!

Also, don't worry about those clips, they're for factory use only. Not required.
