Got this one too ask iv screwed the side skirts do I bond the seams so water don't go behind the skirts rot the sills or leave them just screwed and let air circulate round

I would leave them unsealed and sprayed Waxoil over the sill sections (inside and out) before fitting the skirts. Anything that acts as a water trap is going to speed up the corrosion.

Thats going to look really good with new paint...how did you fix the rear spoiler?

Cheers si best take them off and slap some waxoil on

I would suggest you do that after you've had it painted. Have the skirts, bumpers and other stuff painted off the car for a better finish.

cheers baz, I put 4 bolts upside down for the middle part and fibreglass them in drilled the 4 holes then bolted it up on the sides didn't have the depth so I use small butterfly bolts just opened the hole ,more then use some fibreglass to bond it

Trouble is si I'm on my own doing it and if I did that I know I'll scratch it as I'm a clumsy git

Just try and be careful with it all then dude. Seriously, if you paint all that stuff on the car, you won't get all the bits painted correctly. The bumpers need to be suspended and you need to paint those sills. If you have waxoil all over them, it'll be bad news for the painter. The whole car will (should) be degreased before paint and that would mean removing that sealant.

Iv got the tack cloth and I'm pleased I haven't put the wax oil on yet as it started to rain sills can come off no big deal there when I paint her and it's not right I'll take them off don't won't too as iv got the lines right on the rear bumper think I'm going too think on it and make my mined up on the day when I take her round to the garage to paint her

Looking good there Ted!! Very good! ....................!

Yup - be good to see it on your car Ted; keep us updated with pics mate!!

The Impul bodykit is one of the few kits that actually looks good on the Z and is complimentary of its lines. It is a quality looking kit and looks like it was designed for the car it is bolted to, something few other after market lots do.

I agree also!!

Well I'm up early been thinking about it all night taking it all off apart from the rear spoiler as it's bolted and bonded si right spay it off the car so that's the job for today

Where you really going to spray the spoiler on the car!?!?! You'd get terrible paint coverage. Glad you're taking it off. :)

4 coats of base? How many of clear? You going to wet sand and polish it once it's dried? What paint are you using?

All these questions! lol

Hi si I'm using cellulose with a high gloss thinners 1st blow over 2-3 heaven coat 50/50 mix 4th was a 60/40 mix then cut it back with 1200 w/ dry or 1500 then lacquer with harder 2 to 1 mix 2 coats should do it the use 1500 on it then buff it will be in the garage tonight to do the car should be done in the morning paint wise anyway

If it's cellulose, make sure you put plenty of wax on after the paint has had time to breathe and gas out fully. :)

Yea I think after a wk should be plenty of time for the pain and laq too harden up too wax her

Actually for paint to properly gas-out, it takes about 3 months. But I think that was based on old 2-pack paint rather than cellulose.
