Hi Guys, I am currently bidding on a set of uk spec clocks on the be the bay. I assume its no major issue to change the odometers over as mine is a import and I would like to keep the mileage correct or am I better to change/ wind back the odometer on the clocks that's in the dash pod if I win them?

There easy to change over. Just take your time and don't force anything apart.

Just a few clips and screws thats all that holds them together.

Well, whilst they'll physically fit in any Z32, the plugs at the rear might not necessarily correspond with yours. So you need to either take your own clocks out and check the back of them against that picture, or ask the seller what year they are.

Also, they're twin turbo clocks as they have a boost gauge... if yours is an NA, there's going to be an issue straight away, I'm afraid!

World of pain trying to fit those, airbag light issue, lower section warning light issue, connector issue, odometer will not change over, back lighting different.

It is always possible to "make" things work but much easier to get the right part, the e-bay listing is misleading as it says 99 and they are not.

have just emailed seller through the bay as ebay wont allow me to retract bid with less than 12 hours to go. thankfully I started this thread and didn't end up with items I couldn't use.

thanks to mondo and jeff for making me aware of this.

Those are early series clocks and much more common, you need series 4 clocks onwards for a 96, a quick way to tell from the front the later series have squared off screw tabs on the bottom, early ones they're rounded, hope you get out bid unless you put in £1,000 !!

Have literally just been outbid by a £1 but saves a load of hassile now, so I can relax and let them go.

got a message back from the guy selling them and he seems to think they would work? ANYWAY someone else has outbid me. Here's a copy of his reply,

"who told yoh that. I was a trader on that forum and kmow 100per ent thay do. I have one on my na . Unfortunitly that forum has alot of members who dont know what there talking about. ive had 17z's so know a little more than some lol. I will cancel youre bid no issues there. in future dont believe everything you hear on the forum. ps I own the quickest uk na which has been at POD na's are my speciality. regards dave "

As Jeff has said, they'd be a nightmare to wire in. As I said, the boost gauge alone shows that they're not designed for an NA car.

At least you haven't bought something you can't use, which is the main thing. :)

totally agree, its not a set for the na car. really glad now I posted this as I thought they were all the same. lesson learned

Jap and UK odometers clock up differently, I put a Jap one in my UK car and it clocks up in KM's instead of miles............

Load of bull..the boards are totally different for a start. I`m sure if he was a trader on here and was any good he`d still be here. I know cos i own a uk zed!

Never heard of him, but when he says he has the quickest UK N/A then you know he is full of shite lol, but he seems to think they will work, after 17 z's you would know if they would work :whistling:

Haha UK na! Also the fastest trap time for na is held by nick, so again wrong. He's owned 17? Who buys 16 cars that a ****ed or ****s them...sounds like he's more full of it than the advert.

Maybe he has had 17 series 1 zeds!

You may well jest Joel with that but you're probably correct, never had more than likely above a S2.

Recently I came across a 300zx breaker who thought all plenums were the same, we all live and learn but for the seller to be real arsey is not on, those clocks will clearly not fit a 94 on.

These are later clocks, a bit pricey but totally different from earlier series and you can see what I mean about the tell tale square screw lugs from a front view.

But looking at some more, these have got me a little baffled if any ones following this !!

I've got a proper set of series 4 nismo clocks and got them imported

from the usa, series 4 are more rare now than UK clocks I think.

The internals are completely different and three sets I've seen have

had various changes inside again making them not

Very interchangeable with other parts.

I think Andy and myself are the only ones with spares.

I've been looking for a series 4 (NA) set of clocks for months now to have a play around with creating some EL dials.

As you say, rare as hens teeth and I've still not managed to find any.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)
