Nice buy mate. Is it a camper?

8 seater Tom that fold down into a double bed...motels will be got on the journey but at a push you could get your head down iff needed. There just great little utility 4x4,s and run on a shogun/pajero running gear so parts are 2 a penny.

Interesting proportions on those Bri. I kinda like 'em though and I think they've aged pretty well. They've always looked like that type of vehicle that you'd want to take to somewhere in Scandinavia/Iceland. They look like a proper 'explorers' vehicle.

When I was at university in Southampton, I had a weekend job driving new and used cars off of the ships that came in from all over the world (I had thee best student job - whilst other compatriots were stacking shelves or pulling pints). Anyway, I always liked it when the ships carrying the grey imports arrived. They always had these and Shoguns on them along with the usual grey import cars of that era. I always liked driving these and remember them fondly, a bit agricultural like any diesel 4x4 from the time but they were so spacious inside that it was almost like driving a motorhome, but without the stupid looks and awful Transit running gear!

Have fun Bri, I'd love to do that. I really like Scandinavia and have been to Norway and Sweden a number of times. Dig deep though as they're very expensive countries - take your own booze at the very least! If you get the chance, take some of the ferry routes across the straits of Skagerrak and Kattegat...and if you get that far, the Bay of Bothnia (Baltic region). The routes are awesome and you intertwine through rocky outcrops; truly stunning.

If you haven't got the time, look at the route between Sandefjord (Norway) to Stromstad (Sweden). It's only a few hours, but the route into and out of those ports is beautiful. On the longer routes (5hr+), the ships are vast and some of the biggest ferries in the world - like mini cruise liners.

great post Si...have some rep fella:thumbup1: you are correct about being expensive too including Denmark,my last trip to norway was a blast and we love the place.

Even though it's not in Europe lol!

It is and it isn't.

However, politically, only Sweden and Finland are part of the EU (European Union). Norway voted against joining, however it is part of the European land mass.

When it comes to travel, all three countries are part of Europe's Schengen Agreement, which abolishes border controls between the countries. Thus you can pass from one to the next without passing through immigration checks (though there are customs checks when entering Norway, since it is not part of the EU).

Economically, all three are part of the European Economic Area, which facilitates trade throughout Europe, creating a single market including countries that are not part of the EU. But only Finland has adopted the Euro as its currency. Norway and Sweden both still use their own currencies: the Norwegian krone and the Swedish krona....and they're both bloody expensive!

Really nice little family trucks, my mate has one to carry his family around. The 2.8 4M40 is a good old engine, same as my Challenger and will happily run on bio and veg all day long, so that's a nice fuel saving :)
