Well after a good few months of work and trying a few things out (Like a wings west front end) we decided that nissan made these cars look too good in the first place (not the best advert for selling the mad front nosecone lol).

So L 300TT came back from the paint shop again today and has the standard front back on and is looking oh so shiney and brand new... the only mods now are the HID headlamps and angel eyes and the super cool BSCC black wolfrace wheels.... pics to follow as soon as I get the forum working properly.

I mirror your thoughts entirely on road cars, track weapons are a different kettle of fish. They are very very few complimentary bumpers out there and most aftermarket stuff that you commonly see really does the cars no favours what-so-ever. The WW and the Veilside bumpers being the least flattering. I for one applaud your decision. :)

Nissan did a near-perfect job of designing this car visually and as the cars become rarer, having clean cars with original looking bodies as becoming increasingly desireable.

This isn't to say that there isn't nice aftermarket stuff however, as TwinZ, Impul, Stillen, Aeromaster, Kaminari all make some nice stuff, but most of the 'styling' products supported by venders in the UK are pretty dire imo.

Generally, some of the most visually appealing Z32s have had nothing more done to the exterior than a choice set of wheels and a well thought out stance. The days of the big gawky fibreglass bodykits are on the decline thankfully. Some cars can wear these sorts of things well as they have more angular lines, but the Z32 with its ubber smooth slippery shape and elegant lines just doesn't lend itself to vented wings, huge gaping bumpers, enourmous spoilers, round rear lights and lurid paint schemes and never has.

Think I saw you again on Wednesday night, just before 5pm turning into the bp petrol station. I was on my way to see Znut.

Blimey Si a kindred spirit for ya .

99 spec front bumper is the king of them all

'89 spec front with Stillen type III lip and a 99 spec rear spoiler is the way for me :)

oh, and smoothed stone chipping..

Blimey Si a kindred spirit for ya .

That's three of us then. :thumbup1:

Whilst I like the 99 front end, I actually prefer the original front end, with or without a lip.

My favourite is the rarely seen older version of the Impul front bumper. I used to have a photo of it, but it's long since gone. I like the other version which you normally see, but prefer the ubber rare early one.

well mine is up for grabs so feel free to contact me lol... but if yours is the silver one in Broadgreen area, I would leave it personally... its too nice to mess with

It's the way they flair out at the bottom that makes them look so strange. They don't follow the lines of the car at all, you lose the flow of the car's shape, the swage line. Plus all the mesh. Really glad you've gone back to stock as the rest of the car looks clean AND it's a late-spec car. :pint: :)

Yup - reckon I do now......

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

yep ive tried at least half a dozen fronts and the one which looks part of the car is the good old 89...so its staying for good on mine

I see a major issue with the vast majority of aftermarkets is the lack of a swagde line. So 3/4s of your car has and 1/4 hasn't bloody silly when you think about it.

The reason it flares out is that its meant to be mached to side skirts too but honestley I think that is like chasing a really bad dent around the car with a ball hammer to fix it (think father ted raffle car lol).

I guess this is the worst sales pitch I ever did lol

I completely agree and have been saying this for years! The counter argument is to 'smooth' the swage line in. I've seen that done and it makes the car look like a blancmange mould. It's also the contour of the drop sides. Almost all of the commonly sold aftermarket bumpers are like this - almost as if the person that made or designed them didn't see the car that he was building the bumper for.

True, but even with skirts, the front bumper flairs out waayyy too much. Not to mention the fact that the dropsides curve inward above the skirts toward the swage line, so even then it never matches and the WW skirts have a strange little 'field mouse' vent on them. I've never understood why that vent is there. The skirts themselves wouldn't be too bad if it weren't for that tiny strange and oddly placed vent.
