went in 2003 e46 m3 last nite

a mate has just got a e46 m3 looks very nice we went for a blast last nite its fast like and sounds great ,we went for a blast on the 300zx tt after and both agreed the 300zx was a lot faster indeed the 300zx is running 14ps,i chip, and cat back system and cone intake stock turbos .the 300 is 23 yeasr old and can leave a 2003 m3 in the dust that's not bad going for a old jap banger

A boost hike to 1 bar absolutely transforms the Z32 and brings its performance up-to-date with most junior supercars and luxuary sports cars.

his m3 looks great I have to say but as funk says 1 bar changes it a lot you fella with uprated turbos runnging higher psi must have a scary fast car

M3's are great but they are so boring to look at. To uneducated it's just a BMW that looks like all others. Be interested in a hard out race, my mate has a very lightweight scirocco that feels RAPID, the zed feel much slower. In the real world though the zed even stock starts walking past it as if it were still after about 60. Bear in mind a z32 running a generic chip at 14 psi is likely producing less than 340hp.

Also bear in mind, that a stock z32 is faster than all but the latest Porsche boxsters a car well it's junior and with a very well know brand on the bonnet. So they are a quick car even stock.

his m3 am sure its 331bhp or some were round that I think he said. I had a boxster moded engine was just shy of 300bhp after tuning it up was good. you guys running 450bhp in your z must be super car fast

jap bangers indeed

Nice one Dan - and good to see you're happy with your car once more mate....

The E46 M3 is no slouch either; although at 10 years old a lot of them have been thrashed to buggery by now - not unlike any other affordable performance car. Still I'm pleased for you Dan; and as said above, the 300zx looks better than most cars on the road...

Richard:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

worst thing i did was to buy the M3 cabby i had, drove it for a year and thought it was very boring and bland, was just another black car on the road and i didnt think it was all the m3 lovers make them out to be, sold it after a 2 years, only lost about 1k on it so not too bad

should have put the cash into a very nice 300zx

my missus has the E46 2.5CI....Not an M3 i know but the cars road presence is less than zero:no:

I like BMWs a lot, but they have never set my pulse racing. Well engineered and well mannered cars. I was sat behind a brand new BMW 425i this morning. This is their replacement for the 3 series coupe. I looked at it and it didn't register at first and then I said to myself....it just looks like all the other BMWs. I was very disappointed.

dont get me worng the M3 was very refined, ticked all the boxes, fast, looked nice and drove well looked great with the roof down, but for some reason i just never clicked with it, couldnt put my finger on it but shell reckons and i think she is right, its just wasnt a 300zx

it sounds silly but i just cant hang with cars that have the gas pedal coming up from the floor like most beemers..hatefull to drive i think.

Beemers are good at what they do, look half decent and soak up the miles really well, I've got a 330d m sport which is the best car I've aver had and a 325 ti compact. But there is no excitement.

I had a blast against the latest m3 the other week and just blew it away as iff it was nothing :) there 410 hp or something like and only 300ft/lb which is poor for a v8 and it weighs about 1700kg but srill did a 0/60 in 4.8

Given a choice, I'd take a Bmw over any marque for a daily driver. Although I prefer the extra quality a 5series brings over a 3series.

Floor hinged throttles take some getting used too, they feel very different at first, but I prefer the feel once used to them. Bmw's, Porches and other high end sport cars, as well as most race car pedal boxes are all floorhinged.

My friend had a 1974 beetle a few years back, that had some very odd pedals terrible to drive.my van accelerator however is also floor hinged but feel normal.

floor hinged pedals are a pain in the arse I agree I have had a few bmws and a a Porsche with floor hinged pedals not nice
