99 Spec Reverse Light Panel Copy - Better Than OEM !!

Well having put up my brake light flasher thread yesterday to mixed reaction but mostly a  to which I totally agree, I set to work and finished my newest creation and I challenge you not to like !!!

I have lit up reverse panels for a while now but this takes it to a new level. When 'off' the red 300ZX on mine is redder than the genuine one and mine even lights up, you can surely not get better than that :cool3:.

So here is the video of it against a genuine one - can you tell the difference ?

And because the video camera doesn't seem to pick up the redness very well I took a pic so view that lower down.

This was once just a common or garden reverse panel, as with all mine now when off the 300ZX is in red, the 2nd pic shows it alongside some genuine 99 tails .

I have always had an original 99 spec reverse light panel on my car, just that I adapted it to allow for some illumination of the 300ZX, but with my evolved way of now doing things I wanted the red outline back and also to illuminate as before so I set to and have accomplished this.

So this is before which for the untrained eye you would think a standard reverse panel, and then further below as is now, please remember the red on the ones I do is redder than the factory ones.

That's certainly a great update to this thread Dave, some great pics and it does look nice, makes mine look a bit bare without the stripes .

Thank you for your kind words and great work mate.

I must admit that I do find the added lines definitely add a little something special to the panel (not that its not already a must have modification as is)!

Got a genuine one waiting for you although you can hardly tell the difference .

Can you convert a pre 99 spec rear panel?

I can yes and it will look 99 spec, the pic in post 28 was once a 'normal' panel, you can have with or without the lines Neil .

cool would want it with the lines as eventually i want you to do the rear lights as well.

pm me your address and payment details and so on. and we will sort it out.

Looks like we are trend setters with lines in the reverse lights:yes:

Other than mine and the old pic of yours, ain't seen it on another zed.

Having started this thread a month ago and never seen what I have done ever before well miraculously it seems a month on my copies have been copied .

Yes but that's just the normal way of sticking a sheet behind and this has been done since the year dot, I am talking about an illuminated 99 spec copy with the red outline when off .

these are awesome mate can you do 1 for me plz!!!!!!!

For the time being I will revise my price down for the lighting up in red of the 300ZX on the genuine 99 spec RLP's to £40.00 delivered back to you and it'll take me a couple of days turnaround, the panel will still maintain the red outline, so basically you wont know I've touched it only at night it will light up.

-------------------------------------------------------

For a standard RLP I will convert it and make it look 99 spec as above, you will hardly know the difference from the genuine article but as this is a touch more work the price will be £45.00.

-------------------------------------------------------

I also have a few copies done on the shelf - wonderful condition £85 delivered, if you want the o/s chamber to be fitted with a red fog bulb just let me know.

BARGAIN PRICES!!! especially for such a great upgrade on the original reverse light panel!

You ever thought about getting a set of stock rear lights, taking the red defusers out and converting the top two lights on the centre panel to be red to match the top sections of the rear lights?

PS, your 'centre' justification' has been changed to 'right'......just because! :p

I have about 6 tail light red diffusers here on the shelf and so I could and yes I have thought about it, they would need siliconing in, but would it then look a bit weird as the two top red sections would not match the two OEM clear lenses in the lower, but on saying that all four clear diffusers in the RLP are not the same pattern anyway.

You would then need to section out internally both the bulb chambers, thus making four, personally I already have this with red star bulbs above the white ones but of course these are shining through the stock clear reverse panel lenses.

As yours like mine is sorned send me your 99 panel on and I'll convert as you ask but mainly for lighting up the 300ZX....you know you want to :tt2:.

No no, I am not suggesting you do all of them, just the top two to be red, the bottom two to remain clear, so you'd have red across the top from both sides of the rear lights through to the centre panel and clear along the bottom.
