I have been considering selling it as I really want a short slicktop, n/a or tt to use as a track car but cant afford one so.... I already have my LWB, its mine, its paid for, and N/A's aint worth a fat lot so I may as well use it a base for a bit of a project. Its a pretty solid car but it has quite a lot of shopping trolley dinks and dents and would cost a furtune to make it mint. I know its a bit heavy and clumsy at the moment but...might be worth a go.

Mine was smooth when it came off the boat from Japan. I tried to like it, but I felt that the 2+2 really needed something on the trunk lid. 99-spec was the only spoiler that really stood out. I actually quite like the 94+ ones too, even the original if in good condition. Most aftermarket spoilers don't suit the Z at all. It is a shame stuff like the Central20 and M30Z spoilers were so hard to get hold of. In the UK, we end up getting lumbered with ungainly stuff that looks like it was taken from the fast and furious films rather than stuff that compliments it.

I really wanted the M30Z spoiler and nearly bought one, except it was for a 2 seater and didn't fit that well.

As a happy medium though, the 99-spec works really well.

The day I picked it up from London from the importer's YEARS ago now.

How it currently looks after just getting it out of the garage....maybe for the last time this year as we have arctic blasts due next week! :(

Looks stunning! :) 99 spec looks right..

Shorties can get away with being smooth, a 2+2 though, nah. Mine was smoothed it looked so lanky. I put a replica 89 on,instantly transformed it to a sports car again.

This!

Or a smooth lip can just take away the lankiness, without adding too much

That!!

I would leave it smooth ! Just because I think it looks great.

Beautifull car Funkysi and my hat goes off to you in spades for parking it up !

No way could I garage a car coz it was cold/wet/salty roads/raining/snowy etc ?

Its a car, and it should be driven. I can understand the reasons for folks doing it, but, (shudders) not me !

Alan..........

Mine has rotted so now removed, prefer the smooth, makes for a sleeker looking line, as I'm not keen on most I the aftermarket spoilers, prbabky change my mind in due course.

I've seen enough rotten Z32s to put me off owning cars for life, let alone my own Z. Winter roads in the UK are awful, they completely destroy the underside of the cars, wreck wheels and damage paint. Why would I drive my car in conditions like that? I may as well pour acid all over it and kick stones at it. I don't even enjoy driving it (or any car) in the winter, the roads are all slimey and/or wet, so you can't even drive the Z at its potential. Reports of Z32s being written off during the winter months whether that be due to driver error or someone else driving into them go up 10 fold. It's an old car, with limited corrosion resistance and bodypanels that are becoming increasingly hard to buy.

I drive my Z, a LOT, just don't want it destroyed unnecessarily.

:)

Have to agree with Si as my zed is garaged most of the Winter Alan. As these cars get less and less it is becoming very hard to buy a good one and driving them in Winter is not a good idea. I know a lot of members have no choice as its there only car but if you can do it then garage it in Winter and you will have a zed that will last you longer, it will keep the rust away, less risk of getting it damaged and its price will go up.

I wouldn't have a problem driving it in the winter if it weren't for the salt. The saline spray off the roads in the winter is HIDEOUSLY corrosive, for that reason alone I chose not to take it out in winter time. In fact I wouldn't drive at all in the winter time as my main car gets trashed with stone chips and salt spray. It's only a year old so I have no concerns over its corrosion resistance as it is still under warranty.

No matter how clean you think your car is, salt finds places you can't get to, even if you think your cat is well protected. Horrid horrid stuff it is.

I agree....

.....for a 2+2 it has to be the original 89-spec of the latest 99-spec. Either is good, but neither is bad IMO...

Richard:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
