AS above... Pick the new girl up today

A nice 3 hour drive home.... 1/2 a tank.. not too bad.

Alas there are a few little probs.:sad: but not too much of an issue to fix. Drivers door is quiet badly dented (tesco car park ) and might need replacing. the paint work on the bumpers is :censored::censored: but looking to replace those anyway. need a power amplifier for the drivers window (think thats what the little black box is. ) wheels need a refurb and the interior again is :censored: so im on the look out for a good leather interior.

its been stood for a year so needs a service and the brakes looking at, they work but not as well as i remembered the TT brakes to be.

however the big thing is the boot floor. a massive rust hole. and i mean massive. all round where the spare wheel sits. i was just pulling it off and off and off.... on his drive lol... thing is its just gone through an MOT and nothing was noted. maybe they missed it.. it was complete with no hole until i go going on it. will need to drop the fuel tank clean it up and weld a plate in there i think.

on the plus side. i have the full history of the car. including the original Japanese paper work, manual auction paperwork and every receipt since its been in the UK. so i know its been looked after. the Sils are all sound and the engine is good and strong. Turbos kick in and again are strong with virtually no lag.

cos of the bits and pieces i noticed around the car managed to knock off another £400. which is pretty good considering everything i need to do i can do at work for free lol

Will get pictures up once shes had a clean

:)

Indeed i did. as i said the arches and sils are solid. cant understand why the boot is as bad as it is. not rust anywhere else. shame really. well i say shame. wont cost me anything to fix and put right and saved my self £400 well apart from maybe a door. but we will see about that.

It's quite common for water to get in through the rear screen seal where the water pools in the bottom corners, it could also get in through the wiper seal. I'd carry out a little investigation and make sure it's water tight back there. From underneath, with the tank in the way you'd not see the extent on an mot test and the tester isn't going to start pulling up boot carpets etc.

True. but this is behind the tank and quiet clearly visible from underneath. well it was once id finished poking it about lol. it looks quiet bad but once its cleaned up and cut back to good metal i'll get a better idea of how much i need to weld in. gonna sound deaden the boot anyway. as long as its solid and rust free not fussed what it looks like. just a PITA i'll haver to remove the tank to do the welding

You saved another £400.00, how much did you get it for in the end then? (if you don't mind me asking). Sounds like you got a bargain as you can do the work yourself.

Hi Darkside TT, well done mate...... nice to hear you have another Z...... Look forward to seeing your progress......

More than nothing but less than a lot lol. Put it this way I paid for a manual conversion and got the car for free! Lol
