  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Started up Spare Zed number 2 for the first time in over a month, still sounds great but has a slight tick on the lifters that wasn't there last time, shame I can't take this one for a spin. 😢

20240414_102716.jpg

The tick will be from the oil falling down the engine while it's been sitting for a long time. Run it on idle for about 20mins and as the oil gets moved to the top of the engine the tick will disappear. Mine did it on Thursday after five months of not being run

Took the Zed out for a little drive around the Oxfordshire countryside - we arrived at Rousham and spent a few hours wandering around the grounds in the spring sunshine...... 🙂

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I was fortunate enough to be selected to show at the Jap-themed Goodwood Breakfast Club today and even luckier that the weather held out for it! I haven't been to a Breakfast Club meet in almost a decade and was thoroughly impressed by the number and sheer variety of cars and bikes on show. I must have walked at least 1/3 the way around the track + paddocks, control tower parking etc...

Unfortunately the Jap cars barely filled one paddock, whereas Brit cars filled two and all the usual high performance / modern filled all the otherwise-prime spots around Goodwood. And anyone and anything else that turned up got to park on the track.

A massive shame that we only have 1x Z32 representing today (me) as I know @AndrewG had also applied and never heard back. Disappointing as there were several NSX, RX7, Supra, 350z, etc...I hope it was just an error and nothing more.

I made short reel for my IG which you can see here...

....And today I collected my Zed from the paint shop....!

I also had the OS rear quarter resprayed, as I have never been 100% happy with that panel since 2018. Oh, and I had the spoiler re-done too; the fibre glass had cracked above the brake light screws.... 😉

They did a very good job, the colour matches perfectly! Albeit after I got home, I noticed they forgot to paint the lower part of the rear bumper, so I'll have to drop it back for a day next week. It's just a blemish on the textured part of the lower LH corner, an easy fix - but it did bother me a little that it wasn't done.

He's is a good guy though - proper old-school skilled sprayer... He's recommended by all the classic car owners in the surrounding villages!

Today I used my Zed a little.....

I had a dental appointment first thing, then Julia and I took the scenic route home, via a couple of garden centres. Don't these cars look great in the sunshine 😉

I daily drove mine to work yesterday, wanted to get a picture of it next to some brand new double deckers, but they had all left the depot when I got there. Only had a few old Volvo's and a couple of Weights shitedeckka when I got there! I had 4 MX5 wave at me, one lady was next to me at the red light and was loving it, taking pictures and everything!

Completed a 287 mile trip over the weekend.

Went to Goodwood Festival of Speed on Wednesday and camped for a few nights, car got quite a bit of attention in the campsite!

Then drove from there to Rendcomb, Cotswolds on Friday night, lovely sunny drive, and spent the weekend with my family for my dad’s 70th before driving home to Tring.

Car didn’t miss a beat!
