  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

i always thought they were 60 litre tanks.

have done 330 a couple of times now, thats about the distance to my brother inlaws at Glasgow, but never checked the fill up

Maybe 60 litres in the tank and another 2 in the pipe up to the filler.

Said goodbye to it. . Even my better half (not as obsessed with cars as I) patted it on the wing and said "goodbye thou good and faithful servant" before I drove it down to the ferry to meet new owner. An ex-R32 owner so we've managed to get him away from the dark side

Now then, what could ease the pain of selling my 3rd Z...

BTW, thanks, Sudesh for selling it in 2011!

Swapped my fog lights for some brand new ones

Wimp - you had another 9l left in the tank!

PMSL - there was certainly more to give, but I gave in... The allure of more Nectar points won me over....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

That's what I thought......

…….But I stand corrected!! Should have read the handbook...

LadyZed got a spot of fuel earlier for one last ride to work tomorrow as her MOT is due on the 4th, know for a fact she won't pass so will be off the road for a while :crying:

It's been a couple of days - but here goes....

Sunday, gave the Zed a nice wash and wipe over with Auto finesse Glisten. Today I visited Just Tyres for a pair of 265/35/18s as, whilst washing it, I discovered the rears had breached the tread-wear bars

Great service from those guys - as usual - and got plenty of nice comments whilst it was there.... Now I am ready for a little planned road trip on Saturday...

Package of goodies arrived from ConceptZ: hood storage lid handles (fitted), convertible top latches (one fitted to replace the one with a bit of plastic missing) and two map light bulbs.

  1. when I ordered the bulbs, only one had gone. When I came to fit, they both had - thus proving the benefit of ordering a spare!
  2. is that the largest % difference between the tiny part and the biggest box in the catalogue? :D

Oh, and fitted my new plates so G10 is officially back on the road :) Big shout to Rival Motorsport who coughed up with the right size rear plate (JDM) when I discovered that the plate I had on the S6 wouldn't fit on the S2 (someone had bent the plate supports so the taller plate could be screwed to the bracket). I also discovered that the normal registration plate screws (which worked fine on the S6) just too big for the S2. Baffled. Still, bit of gorilla double sided and all is well.

Fitted new number plates front and rear to the vert.

The front was looking tatty and the rear has always anoyed me as it was the wong size

Painted the front blate bracket whilst i was at it

Broke the plastic bolts taking them out, so bought some new ones from halfords which were supposedly m6, but they were more like m6.5. Managed to retap the rear ones to m6, but ended up stripping the white ones so used metal bolts on the front plate

These....

Had to resize them as my phone takes larger than foruum can handle

I fitted an oem shifter to replace the short shifter i didnt even know I had until jimmer spotted it a few months ago. What a difference its made, I could change gear with my little finger now. Also realised that I supplied lee dent with a new set of oem shifter bushes a couple of years ago to change for me, no way he could've fitted them so something else to add to the list of things hes pinched.

"Long runs the fox"

I'm changing the upper component to the lower components - can anyone guess where it's from and why? #mostboringpostthisyear

I'll play - Rear Bumper Fasteners.

Haha! Yes! I've been chasing a tinny rattle from the back of the car for what seems like an eternity. I've gone full-retard on rear sound insulation which made a dramatic improvement, but that tinny rattle was still there over slightly rough terrain and low speeds. The rest of the car is pretty much squeak and rattle-free so it really annoyed me.

I was up underneath the car last weekend and noticed that the long tabs on the bumper mounts which were secured by nearly-new OEM fasteners would move up and down ever so slightly, but enough to cause the tinny rattle as they're secured to the aluminium crash bar (yes, the new fasteners are silver plated mild steel as SS would have caused a galvanic reaction). The plastic rivets just can't seem to grip enough, so a nut and bolt job it was and it's gotten rid of that rattle!

So, if anyone gets a rattle from the rear of their car which they struggle to locate, have a look under the rear of your car to see whether there's movement between rivet and crash bar.
