  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

ChrisC had a towbar on his Z and used it to tow his boat, not sure if you remember it, a nice silver wide arch car with a high level spoiler. [emoji41]

There is also a Z local to me with a towbar who frequents a lot of the big shows that tows a custom made mini caravan trailer. Those of you at Beaulieu may have seen his white Z on another stand but he didn't have the trailer that day.

Yes I know them both (seen in pics on here and FB) but its a bit odd to have a tow bar on a high performance sports car. Its nearly as bad as having a roof box

New A-pillar turned up today. Seems a shame to chuck mine but the top clip is broken and I wanted a secure fit.

Some minor differences in the mould of the plastic base, there seems to be another mount on it, but isn't! Fits very very snugly. Old one not too discoloured.

Getting the Edd Cave ready slowly.

So much more for dump or loft. Move stuff around to utilise floor space and few more racks on walls etc.

Then to work out how to run power to garage from three houses away [emoji15]

Is there not a lamp post a little nearer .

Strangely enough yes. But there's concrete hard standing and pavement in between. Always an option haha

Picked up these today (thanks wchestnutt)

17" 8J front 9J rears not too bad.

And started unmodifing my car, so many redundant wires and just annoying things taking power straight from the battery. AIV removed from one side, and boost controller solenoid mounted where the AIV was.

Good to get some enthusiasm for this project back.

Those wheels are gorgeous Alic..

Took my Z to Jim's for some well earned maintenence. Finally got my starter motor replaced with a brand new Nissan one and it sounds great as well as starts reliably! Also had a coolant flush incl. block flush, oil change, a leaky injector replaced and some other odds and sods.

Runs beautifully and now ready for a nice long road trip down to Monaco next month!

Jim's work, as always is first rate!

Love Monaco and Monte Carlo ! been there in nearly every car I have owned some multiple times, I always stop off at the Fairmont Hairpin jump out and take a photo of the car where it is, normally to the annoyance of the other traffic !

Where is it?

Your car, cars you mention at this corner!

The hairpin is part of the F1 street track that form the Monaco GP.

Here are a couple pics of my Opel Monza GSE on the hairpin and my Sierra Cosworth at the Monaco border from Italy, pic date 1990 and 1992 / 3

Yes at the time having a Cosworth was so good, no internet in those days so shows were where you met all of the traders, the RS club was super fine for all of that.

Two different cars there Gary, ones a Serria RS Cosworth and 4wd, worth very strong money the Second is a Serria Saphire Cosworth rwd and less rare/desired but commanding stronger and stronger money.

Just to clarify there, the first one is 2 wheel drive, the second one the Sapphire is 4 wheel drive, both are RS Cosworths, both are making huge money these days, not sure why but that is the market at the moment, both have the same DNA in their structure, always preferred the slightly less lairy looking sapphire so I could take the family out in it as well as the wife used it to go to work.

Now a genuine three door RS500 now that is a whole different angle on the Cosworth spin, as is the Escort Cosworth, not that they did it for me to be honest.

The moonstone colour D reg car is two wheel drive.

Ford did not sell a 4wd version in that shell.

Subsequently they introduced the 2wd RS500 Cosworth which was a limited edition homologation special.

When the Saphire 4 door saloon was made they firstly produced a 2wd Cosworth version.

The final change was the introduction of 4wd in the saphire Cosworth.

That marked the end of "sierra" type Cosworths. Ford then switched to creating an Escort Cosworth variant

All correct, but to add the sapphire in the picture is 4 wheel drive based on age, the vented bonnet and the 4x4 badge on the front wing !! the Escort Cosworth used the 4 x 4 Sierra platform but shortened over the diff area.
