  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Some fresh blood today to accompany my recent power upgrades. A road trip to Jimmer's is on the cards tomorrow for a smoke test, hopefully a clean bill of health and a couple of other bits and bobs.

I also found the last piece of the puzzle to retrofit my cruise control. The harness that goes from the actuator in the engine bay to a plug in the cabin was on a spare loom I have in my Z cave. It was part of a main body harness so I carefully unloomed it to make a separate retrofit harness. The 3 blue wires will be de-pinned and installed into my plug but I've left them all in for reference.

Yesterday I went on a road trip to Jimmer's for a smoke/boost leak test, replacement hicas ball joints and a 1 piece prop.

The jury is still out on the 1 piece as I suspect some prop generated resonance at high rpm has been induced into the cabin but I need to confirm. I have a few other niggles to take care of as the car isn't running quite right at the moment but no time to investigate before Beaulieu.

Today I took the car for an alignment on the hunter to setup the replacement hicas tracking:

That is why Nissan designed and fitted a two piece prop with a damped bearing... to reduce NVH. If you replace a two piece with a one piece then you simply reintroduce it. You dont need a jury to discuss it. Its an engineering fact.

Even my super light carbon fibre SWB prop does it. It will simply be more noticable on your longer prop.

All passed so now to put some miles on her and swap the interior i bought off keith into it. Also a visit to baz for an r33 gtr brake upgrade

I've been a busy boy today and yesterday.

Donor is totally stripped inside and started removing parts from outside. Namely passenger wing for Ali.

Looking at what I've done and what I will be doing. My new project thread will be named Frankenstein. As I'll be making a Jap chassis run with UK loom ECU and clocks.

Stand by for some write ups when I do it.

I took a gamble to fit some wider tyres on the rear, but they rub [emoji36]

And whilst I was there I had it back on the hunter for a fine tweak!

Shame, they look better also.

Been having to change some of the routing of wires in my footwell for the traction control. Been a bit faulty at times..

Ah that little sucker. That's one of my next little jobs. I can't correct my caster because of that nob ATM. You can trim a lot of it off.
