  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Another years MOT with no advisories. Looking at my mileage since 2014 I need to use it abit more! Seriously considering letting it go?

Not at all. Converting to a pinteless injector is futureproofing. I do not want 555s as they're not pinteless. 740s are very tunable, readily available and reliable.

I thought you could get 555s as pintless, i.e. New style. After looking it up it turns out that pintless 555s are actually 615cc injectors. What an odd quirk. Carry on .

Ok so my first post for a few years, so what did I do with my Zed today, well not actually today but Thursday, I handed the keys over to Martin to transporter driver to take my old girl to Jim for some tender loving care, she's been sat for at least 18 months doing nothing so the time had come to get her back on the road, one new battery, 8 turns on the starter with no fuel pump relay, then, relay back in and about half a turn on the starter and vroooom she started, coughed and wheezed a bit but once she warmed up she purrred ☺️☺️ Now I must opolgise if I,m a bit thick or not posting right so bear with me it's been a while (be gentle )

It's in the right hands buddy, welcome back to the fold. [emoji106]

Welcome back indeed....

As for me, I popped my Zed back the garage after some daily use, these last few (well many) days...! Oh, and it's now booked in with Jimmer's neighbouring body-work man for next Saturday...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thanks guys for your welcome back, I just looked and as far as I can see it's been 10 years since I posted as a member and I have another son since then  where does the time go !!

well today while waiting for the kurust to do its magic i decided to wire in my reverse camera as im old fart now i like my gadgets that make life easier, may need a flatter camera thou as im worried it may obscure the lettering on the number plate

Fitted.

I think it's a rather unobtrusive location to have a guage, and pretty much the only blankish spot (bar the radio din) so I think it fits in well.

Yes that's the dad's car. The black one is parked next to it waiting for a new interior, and need to do NA power steering swap, and finish wiring in the reverse light from the gearbox (from manual swap)

Today was mainly spent sodding about with brakes on my spare slicktop.

Lots of cleaning and wire brushing.

I needed to fit some new caliper brake pipes to bring the car up to MOT standard.

Bit of a PITA but both front and rear done on RHS. Also fitted some lightly used Stillen discs on the front.

The backs are near new grooved and dimpled ones. A quick run to the MOT station will clean them up from standing.

Not done LHS yet so more tedium tomorro I fear.

Hopefully the whole car will be up to MOT standard by the weekend.

Nice work mate......

.....Although I'd not be so worried about the camera obscuring the number plate - more so that camera remaining dirt-free for over 10 minutes, come the winter...

You know new fronts are still available.....they're only about £13 each. Rears are NLS.

I know you are trying to be helpful Si but I would never consider buying a metal brake pipe from Nissan.

One of my key mantras in the car world is "built not bought" so the concept of buying such an item is just alien to me.

You and many others take a different view of course.

Brake pipes are always available "same day" at Slick Pete's workshop. Either in copper or Kunifer.

Making them is a POP... its the removal, cleaning and refitting that is the tedious bit.

Total cost for all four pipes is less than a fiver.

Of course my home made items wont pass the "Funky Si" test but they are new safe and MOT able.
