  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Yeah, even the early stock ones are two tone.

LOL - yeah, but OEM Zed horns are just rubbish!! IIRC they were from the Micra, so hardly made a proper "manly" noise. Not to mention that they have a tendency for rusting to bits, owing to their location behind the main air intake.... Thus read water intake:wink:

By coincidence, I purchased a set of twin-tone air horns from Ebay the other day... I just need to get around to fitting them now:oops:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Indeed, they are. Awful things. Replace them with some Bosch dual tone horns and you'll be doing yourself a big favour.

Dual tone? Like a BR train????

I got my dual tone Bosch horns on eBay from a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee for £7! They were like new and make a much better sound, however I have to admit AndrewG's supertone horns are far superior in manliness!

Since my front bumper will be coming off shortly, I might go for a set of those. The Bosch horns could be slightly louder!

Oh the joys... I get home this morning and think to myself, I'll check when the mot is due on my two cars..

Imagine the suprise, when the mot site reads expired 26/2/17.

So spent the last two hours building a makeshift fog light and its due in at 10am...

I have crossed everything in the hope that the Z passes cos I know absolutely positively that the ka is doomed...

The way my luck has been lately, I'm due some good luck but somethings telling me that this situation didn't happen by accident... Two cars, two mot's and both failing will be an absolute kick in the danglys right now..

Well, I'm pleased to say that nostrils flew through the mot...

Not so much as a smudge of pen in the advisories too!

How on gods earth have you managed that man !!

More importantly , the Ka ?

Not sure to be honest, maybe the reaction from the mot man when he lifted the bonnet was enough for him not to want it to fail lol..

The ka however is probably gonna be a different story.

I can't imagine he'll be impressed with the state of that. But I'm just glad I've still got some wheels!

I did however find a fairly substantial oil leak on the z coming from above the driver side turbo.

I'd noticed oil on the turbo feed line but assumed it was just residue from the turbo change that was done a few months back. It does seem to be leaking from the turbo feed, maybe its seeping through the thread and needs tightening?

The valve cover gaskets were done in July so I'm assuming it's not coming from them again.

I'd be talking to whoever did the turbo change...

The unremarkable little part that I'd been hunting for for months has now been refinished.

It's the little things. :)

Now with new OEM screws - ready to fit. :)

I have been driving mine these last few days - it'd be rude not to - and discovered something not so good today......

......After getting irritated that the demister wasn't demisting properly, I am sad to report that my heater matrix has given up the ghost...

Steam in the passenger footwell - or more like driving along in a sauna - was the giveaway.....

So it looks like a trip to Jimmer's might be on the cards now..:clover:

I like how someone as sweetly fingered the plastic bolts back in .

They were in there solid. Had to burn those *******s out!

Oh Andrew! Behave!

The thing the badge is resting on is actually a colour chip........

I changed out my dead battery and started for the first time in about 2 months, started and ran lovely, then picked up my daughter from the train station. She said she had a tough day but when she saw i had the zx the smile said it all. It made me smile all the way down and back from the station.

Just needs a good clean and i must get the centre console moulded to fit the double din stereo. fibre glass here we come
