  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Enjoy the drive home

Well let's say the enjoyment will start once I'm driving at the "right" side of the road again LOL. My trip home will be a bit more stressing since I'll be driving at night, at the left and without road-illumination :blushing:

You will be fine Mike just take it easy.

Finally got round to removing my leather/Black gaffer tape interior and fitted a grey tweed set. Had planned to get the leather redone but the tweed ones are just comfy and supportive (Feel strapped in) that I don't know if I'll bother with the re-trimming

Well, got home safe and well from Bristol. The car drives nicer and smoother than before. She also is "a bit" less thirsty  . Jimmer did a topjob. I'm also a mechanic but in a different area and some things must be let to specialists. I got updated frequently with pic's of the progress from Jim's work. This guy is really great. I can recommend Jimmer to anyone who needs a proper engine job. I did 1200km in total to get my car over and back + train + airplane and I have to say, it was worth it! You guys are lucky to have these specialists, here in Belgium there is nobody who can or even wants to work on a ZX.

Again, BIG THANKS TO JIMMER.

Good to hear Mike, do you have any pics of the work :)

Only because they are insured as classics with mileage restrictions etc. If you were to insure one as an everyday car, to drive to work etc it would be a lot more. When I turned 25 and was eligible for a classic policy the insurance dropped to about 5th of normal policy price I was paying.

My wife's 100 odd hp hatch back is about 450-500 a year for both of us. It's a cheap car to insure.

Another £200 classic policy here too.... All mods declared and 5,00o miles PA limit.....

Eeeek! That's because you're not an old git like me Steve:ohmy:

I don't find "normal" insurance too bad at 46 - the new AMG SLC43 is coming in at £375.... That makes £200 for my Zed seem expensive:lol:

I'm now officially in my 30's, not sure when that occurred. It's the wife being 25 still that pushes up the policy I think. That and her hatch is a "sporty" (apparently) one.

Today I took my Zed out of the garage, did the Sainsbury's run and then took a little scenic detour home.....

After that, I gave it a quick wipe-down with Sonax Xtreme detailing spray (damn good stuff I reckon - gives the paintwork a nice shine and enhances the wax protection); then popped it back in the garage and replaced the cover.

Cracking Pic Dan:clap:

Hello, yes it's me.. Apologies for the lack of activity here recently but I've been extremely busy!

I woke up today to a scene I wasn't expecting.... Snow!

Looking like my Z will be getting a wash, a good wax and a cover over her sooner than I hoped

The horror of the Ford ka is looming ever closer..

I really need a garage..

Anyway, hope you're all good and your z's are all purring..

I should have news on the Wales trip very soon so I'll post it up in the thread. I've been trying to negotiate a deal with a hotel and a campsite for the event. Fingers crossed it may work out very well for everyone..

Well, I'm off to find a car cover now that'll protect my girl for the closer months.. So catch y'all soon..

Quick wash and then a good 4hr spirited drive with my mate in his Supra in tow! Great roads, great cars, great fun!!

today i drove my car through a wall side ways :thumbup1:
