  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Just a couple of things these last two days.....

Yesterday, I finally got my new wheels fitted

Today, we took a wee drive to Waterperry Gardens near Oxford - it's great to be going out in the Zed once more

Pictures will follow.....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Took the car out for a run in the sun today before she gets stripped down for the trip to Kraftworks for the

full monty respray next month. The garage is going to feel *very* empty next month but I know the results

will be worth it!

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

Your car looks great, why do you need a respray?

Can I have your old paint ?

The photo looks deceptive as to the condition close up. Unfortunately there are numerous chips, scratches,

shopping trolley dings and poor resprays (most of which happened before I bought the car from Nissan). So

as a thank you for 21 years of fantastic ownership she is getting a full makeover. I know the standard I'm

aiming for as there are other cars in the Club who have made the grade.

Andrew, what date are you booked in? Just a thought but did you want to drive her across to me with your drivers seat fitted. We could the quickly swap the seat before you carry onto Kraftworks and I’ll store your seat ready for your return. Safes you going back and forth just for a seat.

I drove mine to work today, in its first decent outing since November. It set off a car alarm in the underground car park. Couldn't help but smile.

Loving the blacked out lights against the silver paint Tom. :thumbup1:

Same here Gaz, I wasnt sure on them at first but look great fitted.

Took mine in for MOT yesterday and it didn't fail!

Didn't pass either though, as the electric died mid test. While the car was on the ramp. With me in it.

Oh well, went back this morning and... its still 'on test' on the DVLA website and no one has the username and password for the chap who was doing said test. So, back in tomorrow when the original guy is back in to finish the test, three days in.

They are giving me the test gratis though, and I had a good chat with a recently ex Zed owner at the garage so not a total loss!

Do you have an ECO friendly Z then:confused1: ?

What electrics failed then?

Probably the electrics in the MOT test bay?

Mains to the garage died. The technician from the electric company said it'd be 5-6 o clock before it was back on, bearing in mind I had a half one mot. I got a lift home and left the car up there!

Looking at that photo andrew, im baffled as to why its being repainted! It looks stunning!

Thanks joely, hadnt seen that previous post!

Well, after all those years as you say, its well deserved. Im really glad i had mine done, seeing it coming out of the sprayshop was great.

A new lease of life and protection for many more years..

Today, once I'd returned from the Saturday Sainsbury's run, I washed and waxed my zed..... It was looking a little dirty after the last few days of driving it... I gave the interior a hoover and wipe down and cleaned the leather with Zymol leather cleaner.

I also replaced my rear speakers with some nice new Kicker 6x4s. They drop straight in - and are better than the Hertz speakers I bought about 5 years ago; which in turn were infinitely better than the JBLs I had in prior to that!!

So if anyone would like some nice Hertz 6x4 replacement rear speakers. I'll be putting them in the "for sale" section soon:wink:

It's back inside the garage now, looking nice and shiny, ready for the next outing:thumbup:

The joys of not having a garage:

Spent a few hours brushing that down, applying rust converter and underseal.

It needs another coat but we seem to have been suddenly hit by a typhoon, so that's it for today. Oh well - it's nice to get something done, the car has been a bit neglected for the past few months as I've been ill.

Glad to see you're recovering mate - especially if you can get to work under your Zed! Is that the fuel tank - if so, check the condition of the straps; tank-side. They can go coarse with the rust and eventually "file" into the tank itself, causing leakage. Happened on both my Zeds!!
