  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Went out to see if mine needed charging after sitting in the garage for 6 months (blocked in by 20 tons of earth) but it started instantly! That's one hell of a battery. Hopefully can give it a clean tomorrow if I'm not too hungover

Well at least I managed it today! Will try and get it MOT'd tomorrow as it expired whilst it was blocked in.9e7de1ef519c92ae59df8461c01fb34d.jpg2f60357aa23424cfa7688bee10e446f0.jpg

Not today...yesterday.....after the #Hornfail incident at the NEC this year (Thanks Joel and Andrew!)

....I replaced the horns with some more suitably sounding after market units

Incidentally....the reason for the rather timid, apologetic noise from the OEM horns was that the high note unit had failed and only the low note horn was working.

The link to the video of the new horns in action isn’t working (present), Gary!

I was referencing 2:10 of your NEC video

I went to Fast Lane in Romford, had them make front to middle exhaust pipes with sports CATS, something had gone wrong and I could not drive it far, noise & fumes were overpowering. The car runs really nicely now, has a deep sound now, much better. I need to bring the revs down now it’s running properly.

Met a guy there who was thinking of buying the black Z in Stanstead, so pointed him in the clubs direction.

I have 4 sets of wheels for a 300zx at the moment, is this not normal? :blushing:

Very nice mate. Whats the plans for them?

I’ve done a deal with a good friend of mine, he wanted my Veilsides for a 300zx related job (which was never going to happen) So I sourced and bought these ones for him in lieu of payment. I also sold my GTC’s at the weekend, so at present there’s only my 19” Equips for the blue Z and 18” Veilsides for the red Z.

Starting to feel the love again for these cars:yes:

Your getting more like the Irish version of Del boy mate.

I finally fitted the J-spec corner lights I bought from Phutumsch (thanks Andy!!) about a year ago.....!

I have kept my UK-spec indicators and side lights; and have used the little LEDs Andy installed in the blanked-off part as supplementary side lights.... I then fitted some big bright LEDs into the J-spec indicators, and wired them in as daytime running lights. I didn't realise, until JeffTT mentioned it, that the relay senses when the engine is on, and illuminates the DRLs.... They then go out, when the side lights are switched on.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I also re-fitted my Z-Thirty-Two double-DIN radio surround, after fixing the crack and giving it a refreshing coat of paint. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better than it was - although I'll probably buy a new one sometime:wink:

Again, thanks to Phutumsch, for recommending black bumper paint - the sheen is indeed just right and it retains that "original" plastic look...

Oh, and I also replaced the air filter cone, whilst I had the nose panel off. The old one was looking a bit sorry for itself; and was probably full of dust from the body-shop.....

…..And finally, after all the coats of Jet Seal and Beading Marvellous, I decided to give the exterior a quick wipe-down with Auto Finesse Glisten (or lip gloss, as we called it when JP recommended we all buy some at the NEC... ) Good call Joel - it really brought the Zed, Merc and RR up nicely after washing them recently....

Spent the afternoon fighting with the weather!

Managed to get the car washed and dried and then got a coat of HD wax on inbetween annoying bouts of fine spitty rain..

Got there in the end and glad i did when i saw the reflection on a dull day!20190113_143311.jpg

Still trying to resolve my starting issues, currently i have no spark at all !

She cranks over fine, but when i pulled a coil pack and plug i get no spark against the plenum.

Thinking it may be a power issue so charging the battery up quickly to do another test.

Already tested the obvious earth points, also the cas and ptu connectors.

Not sure if its any use to you lee but i have a good working series one ptu in my spares dept if you want to try it mate?

Pretty certain you'll be using series 2 but if you need it, let me know mate
