  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

......I have a Sony.

I detest IPhones.

Don't know why that happened then ??

Would it be a Tunewell transformer Si?

It's just the there is one on e bay that might do the job.

The one I have is made by F.A.R.T and was what the original came with. I'll check out what ratings it is tomorrow. Would quite like a slightly more compact one.

The F.A.R.T transformers generate between 1kV and 10kV (depending on model). Take care while switched on!

Ahhhh..... it won't work for you Si....... being an old F.A.R.T.............. :whistling::biggrin:

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Dropped these off at the powder coaters yesterday (headlight weatherstrip brackets). Mine are generally in great shape with zero rust, but have that thin Nissan single stage wet paint on them which is very thin, some small chips on them and light scratches.

I should have had these done when I fitted my brand new headlights but didn't. Keen to see how they'll look with fresh and more durable coating on them.

Wednesday I spent ripping various bits of trim off trying to find the source of the mysterious dripping. No luck, very damp. At least driving through the puddles topped the blinker fluid up. Must find a way to seal the units.

Boring today. Changed air filters. Literally shovelled mud out of the bottom of the air box.

Makes a big difference, but I wish someone had told me before that it's nigh on impossible to get the darn lid back on without it fouling on everything known to man on the way in.

Not specifically Zed related but I bought a boost pack as I keep leaving the lights on.

Is there supposed to be a light to tell you the lights are on, or is it just a naff design?

There is a buzzer if you left the lights on and open the door when the car is off (at least mine does)

Looks like you have your nice new C-class now Simon....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Ordered a new set of number plates.... hoping to put in for its first MOT since October 2013 on Monday, then on to the paint shop.

The recommisioning is nearly complete!

Ah.. something else that my car should have but doesn't. I guess that's offset by the stuff it shouldn't have but does? :)

I was quite disappointed it didn't have the JDM speed dinger thing.

Whereabouts is the dripping?

The dripping is the left hand targa where it meets the top of the A pillar.

I've narrowed it down to either,

The drain tube not being sealed at the top

The big slab of rubber in that corner not being siliconed in properly (it looks a little peely)

or the seals just being past it despite looking ok, and allowing water through that wacky labyrinth bit where the window seal swaps from pillar to targa panel and the roof and everything.

That combined with the fact that the front window vents force the AC out of eco mode, which it doesn't really like...

Oh, and somewhere in the rear left corner of the boot lid, but I can't replicate that with buckets of water.

Provided the water is appearing at the top of the A pillar/window, this should help you track down the problem:

Super, will have to check the clips as well as the location of the silicone sealant.... when it stops raining... :cursing:

19°, dry, so what do you do? Cleaning and polishing the Z for a nice drive tommorrow with even warmer weather :phone:

Finally finished on the underside of the car. Subframe powder coated & polybushed. Diff mounts polybushed and new oil. All suspension joints poly bushed, after being stripped and coated with POR 15. HICAS removed and Driftworks lockout kit installed. New rear Powertrix drop links, freshly painted the Stillen ARB. Just need to get the rear wheels and connect the links to the ARB. I think a full geo setup is now required! And the biggest pain in the arse all the brake lines replaced.
