  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

New steering wheel now fitted.....:thumbup::dance:

I took these on my 'phone, so they are not the best quality. I'm damn pleased with the new 'wheel though; great work Mondo, quality is just superb:bow:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It still makes me smile when I see just how close a match that leather is for the OEM centre pad!

Enjoy, Richard... I just need to get Joel's steering wheel in now... ;)

I have a wheel ready for you if you want to crack on, it's the payment thing that might slow the process down [emoji16]

I'll be sending my old one back to Mondo in the week - Si re-trimmed a spare one for me, that he had sitting around. Seems only fair to return one, so Si can do the business for someone else:cool:

Did some mocking up on one of my spare motors, it's tight but looks like everything will fit.

Just one week of work to stumble through then got my time off to pull the actual motor.

Collected the Z from LA Auto's yesterday, Lee put a manual box in for me along with a few other bits. As always Lee has been a diamond.

I did enjoy the auto to be honest from a lazy point of view, but I felt the power delivery was also kind of lazy.

Now I've swapped to the manual and upped the boost the car has a louder note which is quite addictive and overall I prefer the involvement of driving a manual. I wasn't planning on having the swap done this early into my ownership but no regrets.

I ordered some Mishimito goodies for mine.......

......They arrive Tuesday and (hopefully) my local garage can fit them Wednesday/Thursday, so the Zed will be back to its old reliable self for the weekend...

Well was gonna start doing the rear sills today but discoverd the heatshield on the petrol filler pipe was literally disintergrating when i touched it so another job to the list

I did swear a lot to my Zed today. Took the front bumper of and dismouted my headlights to clean them. The moet enoying job I ever did on a car so far. Took me 5 hours :glare: . Now it also clear the car is full of stuff it doesn't need. It's clear that the designer never thought of the guys who had to work on the car afterwards. And then there's those smic 's.....they can never work as they should because no airflow is possible with those tanks behind them. Nissan should have placed those in place of the useless AIV's.....

But my headlight will be clean and I'll be able to see something at night again :D

After spending a few days diagnosing and fixing a Renault Diesel:glare:, I finally had some time to put into my Zed. I replaced the blue wing with a silver one which matches the rest of the car. Already looks much better in my opinion. Next, the plan is to replace the bonnet and bumper, once I have a bit more time on my hands…

Here are some before and after pictures.

Also, while looking to reattach the trim that sits below the glovebox, I found an old ‘disco’ light that had seen better days.

Fitted a new catback :-D

Is that an off the shelf or custom piece?

It's a billyboat 2,5" catback system :-)

Did a passenger side electric seat swap, bit of fabrication but I kept it simple. I didn't fancy resoldering the controls so they are back to front.

Slight hindrance in that before I started, the back tilt never worked.

BLING!!!! Hey i never thought of that one before. I can source a RHD power drivers seat to put in the place of my LHD non power passenger seat. Now to source a "black" mint condition RHD drivers seat that will not kill me on shipping!

Cheers, it's not a very condition seat, but I got a pair free so I can't complain. Apart from having the controls back to front unless you resolder them, you will also have to splice some power from the drivers side to power it.

It wasn't really that difficult, you have to grind off the spot welds for the seatbelt bracket, and also find a way to attach the the switch to the other side, I made a metal plate that supports it.

Also if you want a mint one, there will still be two screwholes in the opposite side in the leather, but they are on the inside by the trans tunnel so you can't see them.

Would people like a write-up??

Haha.

Uhm, the sound is a bit deeper, bit more "burble", not very loud, just a tiny bit more than stock.

So to be honest I was a bit underwhelmed as I thought it would be much louder from the videos and the one I heard live last year, but all those had full turbo back exhaust with no resonators

finally fitted my new rear light panel from Evaansss. Thanks so much man, great help with the delivery and all! Top man.

Look perfect with the phutumsch lights! going to look at the respray and fitting of the 99spec spoiler and front bumper next.

A first for me... Realised the MOT was due on Sunday, so took it in and it passed with no advisories! That’s the first time that’s happened with a Zed for me.

Just need to fix the boost issue and the speedo that decided to stop working on the way home.

Test fit the lights that Phutumsch did for me a month or two back with the new wing.

Quite like the black wing on white look. :p
