  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Cleaned the dirt and oil of the engine bay got the new wire and loom cover ready to go on not doing to much as I was at work last night so just trying to get my head round this blitz boost controller setup lark and the new fuel gauge turned up so that's going to groover to change the l e d from red to blue

Assuming its the same one i have, SBC-id, i got the manual which helped me

Vacuum lines are the only tricky bit imo. Just have the controller under the dash, and route the wire to through the firewall and I mounted the solenoid top left of the engine bay. The intake vacuum lines you can run from the intake pipes, but my wastegate ones ran straight down to one wastegate, and the other underneath the engine to the other side. Perhaps not the neatest way however.

Don't know if that helps, just what my setup is like.

Hopefully mine will be going for paint in next few weeks then fresh rebuild with hi spec and a good mapping session

Only been 5yrs waiting lol :)

Yes Ali mine the same it's not the vac lines it's the set up all gobbledygook to me and reading up on the boost and safe boost

When did you paint the car bud??

hmm around 3 weeks ago, test job for Plasti Dip :) . But because my bumpers and side skirts was painted by spray can before , Plasti Dip melted and it looks really bad now :/ .

Need to respray it in next few days, but first remove all old paint.

But imho in mate white it loos so much better :)

Finally got round to doing some bits and bobs on my Z today. I've been going through the engine bay renewing all OEM fasteners with replacement new OEM fasteners and getting everything that was painted, powdercoated so that it looks like new. No photos yet.

I did however finally get round to rebuilding a set of recirc valves with the BDE GHK kit. I am really looking forward to fitting these and regaining my performance. I need a couple of hoses which I trimmed to fit my aftermarket recircs which have now failed and then fit these.

Drove it around a bit, and took it back to meet its previous owner for a while as well :-D

Is Andy missing it!?

I think you will be disappointed with the GHK in that department! However you will get "Pssst Pssst" when they work so maybe all is not lost.

No I won't, I have an ENORMOUS boost leak from my recircs. When doing a smoke test, smoke poured out of them.

Despite your hatred for them, I know my Bailey BOVs don't have this particular issue.

Good, keep 'em! I'd rather have my turbos removed than fit BOVs! :p

Hope you got someone decent to build the motor??:D

Stupidly didn't take any pictures, but I refitted the starter motor cover with the pain in the ass bolts, flushed the system and got new coolant in it, and got the remainder of the new brakes installed

Here's a nice pic anyway

Thought about removing that cheesy sticker below the rear lights? Makes the rear look a little untidy IMO.

Yeah I hate it, there is one on the side too aswell as some rubber debris from a rubber stripe round the side. What should I use? Petrol? Heat?

What type of sticker is it? Can you not just gently pick at the letters to pull them off?

No, it's a Vinyl sticker but it's been on for years and won't come off by hand. Heat gun will probably be the cleanest option imo
