  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Received a package today with some engine bay bits in it..

Also had another oil change done today to make sure the crud in the sump is flushed out properly..

Whilst she was up in the air, I had a good look round the underside to check on the rocker cover leak, unfortunately discovered that the front crank seal may also be weeping oil.

So looks like that's going to be done also along with a cambelt and rear crank seal..

Someone's gonna be busy very soon!

Anyway, sun's out so best get busy with the clay bar,Polish and wax!

Installed the gauge holder where the stereo was. The centre slot is reserved for an AFR gauge.

Then I started faffing around testing out to see if the idea I have for mounting the sender for my oil temp gauge will work. Which in happy to report it looks like it will. Always helps having spares for stuff like this.

could you not use a sandwitch plate for oil pressure and temp like one with 2 out lets on it. are you only having one AFR ? am going for afr but with 2 gauges

Don't want to use one at present because, A it's an unneccessary purchase/complication and B I plan to use one down the line to accomdate an accusump, so I wouldn't have enough ports. This option seems to fit the bill.

I'm still toying with which AFR to buy and where to locate it. I don't fancy two separate gauges, too many gauges, bit ricer. Some you can have both banks on the same gauge and different options. It's only going to be a safeguard rather than an a tuning tool, that will down to the mapper.

i see yes, i was looking at the aem wide band. i dont want to have to use 2 gauges, have a way or running 2 wide bands, in one gauge would be great and i would do that if i could what ones have you see that have both banks on one gauge cant say i come across that,

Late afternoon spin to Old Warden, a couple of vintage planes flying round today, this is built in 1939, what a beaut :-)

After picking these 350z Rays track v1 wheels up the other day, I've finally managed to give them a good clean and got a nice thick coat of Wax on them ready for putting them on the car this week when I pick it back up from Keith's. The last pic I the most upto date pic I've got from Keith... Getting very excited now, think its looking pretty good!

Really happy with the wheels though... They came off a garaged 350z that had only done 14k miles... Near perfect tbh... No curb marks what so ever;)

Today, I gave the Zed a wash - it was looking a bit dirty after I had used it all last week...... It's tucked up safe and dry in my garage, now that the rain has started....

Plus I fitted my new "hybrid" windscreen wipers (thanks for the link Si.......) Oh, and replaced the OEM rear wiper for a brand new Laguna Mk2 item; granted, it's a bit more "chunky" but it does make a nice 21st century upgrade!

Richard:biggrin:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Finished all the cleaning and she's gleaming again...

I can't for the life of me understand why you'd want to fit a big ugly Veilside bumper to this car. Strange bonnet vents aside, it looks really nice! :)

Sadly I agree

My innovate dlg-1 is here now, what information did you want on it again? Looks like a good bit of kit, cheaper then 2 separate units too.

All I want to know is the 5v out put, when is it triggered and how. Ie does it send out 5v constantly unless you run lean/rich then take the bolts away or vice versa.

You'll be happy to hear that I'm not fitting the veilside front end Si.. At least not for the foreseeable future..

I'm sure Alic will smile also when I say I've removed the Z32 from the perspex strip..

As long as you've not replaced it with one that says NOS or something silly :)

No, I've named it Alic....

Seriously, do I come across as that stupid?

No offense but you have fake hood scoops

Alic, have you ever seen me make a negative comment about anyone else's car here?

Once you've trolled through the posts to see, just ask yourself if youd like me to start..

What's in or on my car is no concern of yours.

FYI the vents were there when I bought it, not that I feel I need to explain, but please do take a step back and consider what may come across as offensive.

The comment about NOS was just for laughs, no negative slant was intended. As with my car, it came with a high rise spoiler and more than once people have said they hated it, but its grown on me and its simply a matter of conflicting opinions.

Do what you want to your car as you say, everything I just said was for comedic effect, don't take it seriously. Apologies for the offense

I'm sorry, but that's funny!  :wack: :)

Glad it was not just me, but he was offended by me insulting them :(

Looks like I have to explain this one then...

I wasn't offended by your opinion on the scoops Alic. If you read back the conversation, I informed you that I had removed the Z32 badge from the perspex strip on my car, something you'd commented on previously and something I was never that keen on.. Followed by your comment " as long as you haven't replaced it with NOS or something silly like that"

Which was your humour but could be taken as an insult.

I reply, do I come across as that stupid? To which you reply " well you do have fake scoops on your bonnet" so, by this it implies that you think I am stupid... Are you catching up yet?

For the sake of this thread, I'm not going to carry this on which is why I didn't reply to your last post Alic..

And Si, I knew you'd find it funny :stupid:

Not implying you're stupid but

Fake vents = same thing as fake nos stickers (IMO)

There seems to be a lot of bitching and sniping going on here in recent weeks / months... :( Let's put it to bed once for all, shall we?

We all like different things and we all want our Zeds to have a look that appeals to us as individuals. Sadly, this will likely mean that what appeals to one will be hideous or unacceptable to another.

Case in point: Paul's bonnet scoops. Personally, I don't think they're very nice on a Z32. They may well work and look fabulous on another type of car, but I don't think they bring anything positive to his Zed's lines.

However, it's his car and so he is free to do whatever the hell he likes to it. Even if he chooses to leave those scoops fitted. His choice. He shouldn't really be pulled up for that choice, any more than FunkySi should be chastised for chanting the joys and wonders of "OEM+" when he has every intention of fitting a very aftermarket spoiler to his car.

Personal choice. :)

I do feel, however, that we have a "conflict of generations" going on here. Paul is at least middle-aged and is therefore used to a time when people didn't type every last little thing that comes into their head and post it on the Net for all to see and react to. Whereas Alic is from a generation where you say what you want, regardless of how it may be taken or received.

I feel like Alic needs to rein himself in a little bit on here, personally. I also feel that Paul needs to stop being quite so sensitive about his car...!

I've had numerous comments since I changed my wheels. From the likes of Joel saying that they look fantastic, to Rose Williams saying that they look ridiculous and impractical. What really matters to me is that I look at my Zed and think to myself "that looks gorgeous!"

My car, my choice. As has been said ad nauseum, car shows and indeed this very forum would be mind-numbingly dull if everyone had a car that looked similar to everyone else's. Some mods may not be to my taste, and I may even say so from time to time, but belittling a fellow Zed-owner within what is already a very small community is just pointless... there's too much hatred and division in "the Zed scene" as it is!

Please just try and get along, you two. :)

Agreed :(

Nothing against him whatsoever, a conflict of opinions about our tastes. I'll try not to.
