  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

  • Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Probably kids, they used to collect them for some reason. Might get the Nismo ones that lock, I think they look better anyway.

and here is my little project for today finished, stripped the headlights back to bare casings several weeks ago, had the reflectors resilvered, cleaned all the internals, fitted the tamiya gears to the adjusters, and reassembled today, didn't use the original grey sealant though as it's gone manky & dirty looking so bought butyl rubber sealant which is used on modern headlight units. so all I'm all a very satisfying job to do, plus once fitted i should be able to see at night lol

Almost defiantly. When I was about 12/13 it was all the rage, so much so eventually the local area ran dry of cars with metal dust caps. They used to steal a set of four of the car, two went on there bike and the other two they sold on. Paid for Turkey twislers or panda pops at lunch because your parents would never give you enough money for a proper lunch. I must admit I had a set on my mongoose menace, I paid for mine on the "black market" haha, I didn't used to eat at school so I could spend the money on other things, usually fish or fishing bait, sad I know.

I was gonna say has to be kids. I know even i did as a kid to put them on my bike. When i first saw your post of fitting them i thought to myself how long will they last. Sorry to hear it mate. I like the idea of locking ones myself but heard they seize on.

I wonder however if it's possible to get a little nut of the same thread and try locking them on with that. That way they are atleast not finger tight

i remember as kids some lad he used to collect car badges i thinking back i wonder were he got them all

I didn't.

when you grow up a council estate si a set if metal valve caps was as good as money in the 80s

Didn't live on one I'm afraid and never have. I was taught right from wrong though.

I waterproofed a couple of ballasts, these I have for the fogs as you can see and of course they live near the intercoolers and one side was wet on it's pcb and blew the fuse.

A new pair fit and positioned also in a slightly different location although now sealed it shouldn't matter :thumbup1:.

Haha! Yeah I had so many other interests, still do. School was just in the way of the rest of life really. I hated it, secondary school was the worst five years of my life. I would compare my old school to a prison really. Where I grew up is on the out skirts of a large town in a county that is 95% rural so it's not too bad. However the 70s saw a massive influx of "travellers" settling into the estates and the 80s saw the druggies being sent here to "rest" they never went home. The kids I went to school with were a mix of the spawn of these people.

i to hated school to the point i stopped going when i was about 14, hated it so much just was not for me, i grow up on a council estate wasnt the worse one about thats for sure, your lucky i would have loved to have lived in a rural area and still would i love the out doors and hate the city and the types that dwell there city types

Spent most of my life in the countryside. I was raised in Glastonbury and my parents still live there. I'm having a house built there as it's a lovely part of the country to live. I can't cope with city life at all.

I currently live by a marina on the coast, but even that's become too congested now.

so you have have bought some land then. a house on its own some were

It's part of a small development that I've had specified. I had considered buying land as I have a couple of friends who are architects, but planning permission and all that nonsense put me off especially in an area where most land is greenfield.

like a barret estate thing ?

how many houses are being built

all single or joined
