  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Yesterday I fitted the new british standard stamped numberplate on the front 99 spec bumper.... same size as the mounting point..... 7cm x 33cm....... :shifty:

Today I taxed my baby today....... then went out and mended the passenger electric window ( bad connection ), greased the runners, greased the central locking mechanism, hot glued all the clip mountings and fittings on the rear of the door panel....

Refitted door panel and wired LED's I fitted in the window switches..... they now light up..... Soon I will get round to fitting the chrome light up interior door handles I made.... lol..... only taken a year so far....

I will be going for a spin tomorrow and cleaning her properly.......... lol

Any pics of the number plate?? I'm undecided as whether to shave the bumper or just fit a small no. plate

When spigot rings get 'technical'!

Just had these in from BBS. Glad they're still available. Regular size-matched spigot rings won't fit. These slot in and have a circlip too!

What symptoms would you see if you didn't have spigot rings Si? I don't have any that's all of i'm just wondering.

Using correctly fitted/sized hub centric rings means that the weight of the car is loaded onto axle hub and the

center bore of the wheel. Otherwise the weight will be borne only by the studs (as a shear force) which they are

not designed to do. Symptoms would include wheel vibration and in the extreme stud failure.

loads of revs, but no go, at lights loads of traffic....... embarrassing to say the least.......

I let her cool down and she regained drive for a minute or so then nothing......

It was a long journey home, stop start and cooling breaks......

As Andrew G has said, worst case scenario would be stud failure.

Like I suffered when I brought the Shortie home when I bought her!

Yes - Andrew's post is bang on; best case you'll suffer from vibration, similar to that experienced when your wheels are out of balance. At worst, stud failure.

The lesson is, if your wheels require spigot rings to ensure they sit squarely on the hub ALWAYS fit them...

Fitted my leather bits supplied by Mondo, today. The steering wheel feels so different now its padded too. and the interior looks so much cleaner now the faded leather parts have been replaced to compliment the blue/grey. Excellent quality work from Si, (just to give him another plug for those who havent seen it on FB)
