  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Coming along nicely! Why not refit your fan shroud and improve your cooling efficiency?

Started to smooth off the horrible fins on the shroud along time ago. Haven't got round to finishing/painting it yet.

My rad does have mounting points on it and I'm pretty sure they lined up the shroud holes, so yrs must get it done.

Finally fitted my new chrome door handles and electric window switches including that tiny bit of fabric stuff that sits in the handle recess!

That completes the interior restoration, loads of brand new bits and bobs! Also handy having a SWB breaker to butcher.

Still masses to do else where, but generally making good progress:)

Im loving the fuel filter arrangement especially your flexible filter mount. Can we get a close up?

There you go Ian

It's a bit tight and after recently extending the fuel line, it still doesn't fit in the strut brace recess.

I have a new smaller FPR going in as the current one is faulty, I may swap the filter and ball around as the ball vale is right up tight against the battery stay.

My original strip looked a dull red which they do with age so I was told.

The rear panel is long & fragile, it came with instruction diagram where to hold it.

As I live close to Mike & wanted a run in the Z, I went to collect.

Mike advised me how breakable they are when off the car but not when fitted!

Nothing today - have you looked outside....

But on Saturday I gave it a wash wish some lovely Zymol car shampoo...... Hmmmm banana and coconut; it smells like something Julia would buy to put in the bath - and the ingredients are not too far off either...

And yesterday I drove it to Coventry to visit the Festival of Motoring car show; I'll get some pics up shortly (I was not participating in the show BTW)....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Friday I took it out and we used as a normal car, four guys smushed in t tops off. Infact I've used it every opertuity this weekend and last, I took it food shopping haha. Today's the first day I've not used it as I'm a little worse for wear this morning.

i drove to mark darbeys place in Notts to replace the speedo cluster that hasnt worked since i had the car over ten years. bought one from Jakie aka Lee who kindly send it to marks address for me . once there we changed the clocks over after some fettleing with then to find out that they do not work as well. turns out that the clocks i bought were naff and after all this time it was a dodgey connection to the speed censor that plugs into the gearbox. cheers mark for sorting.

Mark unwraped the bubble rap infront of me and i said can you put my millage on then. so he went on to strip them to do that and the first thing was the millage odemeter thing was broke ,you know the thing were you reset the millage back to zero, but never mind mark tried to glue but wernt happaning so he got one of his out of a spare bits and bobs lyiny around, then onece that was done tried for over ten mins trying to get the neddle to move as it should do freely but that was stiff and had been previus removed by someone who had done a conversion on them and didnt take the clock face off but put it on over the origanal jap one, after a nother ten min trying to get this neddle free anough to work it was time to see if they would. mine was then striped and yours pluged in only to find that there was no diff between mine the uk ones and the ones i had bought of you, so then mark went to check the speed sensor and after taken it out and spinning it connected to a meter of sorts foundthat it was working, then after then checking my wiring and i had the signal from were i should and i had put back my clocks back in and they worked ,so the summary was that all this pluging and unpluging made the connection better, and worked, so with mine working then decided to plug yours back in to see and no the speedo still didnt work ,and thought it best to plug my uk now working ones back in. i think that covers it, two hours later and a very respectable bill later, i went back on my way to home to finish up my day and a way over two hundred mile trip and me roughly 130 pounds lighter including fuel, parts and labour for a loose connection. in a nut shell i think thats it. bar that i enjoyed what should be my last journey as ive got someone comming down tomorow to take away as he bought it from my ebay sale. whatch this space.

what did i do to my zed today, SOLD IT, and watch her leave my life, tens years of love, ive had that car longer than my current mrs and children. by by car.

thanks guys and yes i took the bloke out for a drive and put it through it paces then the new owner got init and i was scared sitting in the back and that was just before we left the tesco car park, unfortunatly the man could not drive for tofee but nice bloke thuogh. but i had to at one point say you break it you bought it ,then you crash you bought it thoes the rules, he only frove it a few miles then i carfully loaded onto a truck for him. his got a bargain and he lives on jeffs doorstep, so no doubt jeff will have a new customer , out with old and in with the, well the old i guess. right here we go again.cheers

Good one!

Nice to hear of a bit of common sense being applied for once

walk in the garage pressed the fob and the wing mirror and door handle lights came on (promising) put the keys in the ignition bing bing (looking good) one crank of the engine and she purred so smooth and perfect , new exhaust on sounding nice and quite but a nice and powerful sound, not been driven properly in over 4 years, really is a machine, she might not be perfect but what a car, cannot wait to drive it again

pulled out the koyo rad coz its got a leak! and fitted me new bonnet strut

Fitted my new 99 style lights I got from Bird. They are excellent. Also changed over the side indicators a few weeks ago along with HIDs and new rear fog lights.

Not sure on the fogs but will live with them for a bit before I do anything.

Just the Perspex strip to do as far as the outside is concerned.
