  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

That looks bang on.

What he says ^^^. How many miles have you put on those new brakes?

I think, I have sorted it out. I jacked her up an put her on stands took the front wheels and calipers off, I used a plastic green fairly coarse pan scourer on the pads with some brake cleaner aerosol, and used loads of cleaner and blue roll on the discs.

I got all the grease off the bells apart from the thinnest film on the feet of the wheel where they meet the bell. While I was at it I put my stillen arbs onto the stiffest settings as they were on soft front and medium rear. I found I have a bent front right drop link??? very strange so I'll get some new ones ordered. I nearly fainted getting the rear onto the right position. I had to basically lie on my back under the driveline head to the rear, and spring in the rear arb while a passer by put the bolts through the holes. I stood up feeling like I could rip a yellow pages in two then nearly passed out HaHa!

I had done about 50 miles when my ex-best friend greased them! I went for a good run out of 100 miles, never braking hard, but using them sympathetically a lot. They have pretty much stopped squealing and are really powerful, I think they're bedded in but I'll not kick the arse out of them for another 150 miles or so.

So I think, things will be ok?

Wrap looks good, though that's a serious angle of attack on the wing!

Thanks. Looking forward to my test day in may to set the wing up and see what difference a NA diff makes. Especially as I've solid diff and subframe bushes with poly else where and full driftworks rear end....

Excited!!!!!

It's a track/test day at Bedford aerodrome. Never been to it before but will be good for a shake down. Not driven her for over a year.....

So today found me finally making time to replace the knackered speedo with one that apparently works (thank you, Johnyboy - very much appreciated!)

Whilst I had everything in pieces, I thought I might as well redo the LEDs that light all the gauges. Et voila:

I went for white for the main dials as I wanted a subtle, crisp look. The pods gained a bright red glow about them, though:

Hopefully tomorrow will find me a happy Mondo at being able to tell how fast I'm going!!

Looks good mate, love the white dials!

I had my pods done in white, as like you said about your dials, looks subtle crisp and ment to be.

Mate that looks great, was it fairly straight forward? How long did it take you? I have the LEDs ready to do the same thing.

I used LED strips inside the case, Tom. Seems to have produced a much more even spread of light behind the dials. :)

Haven't done anything to the Z today, but yesterday I fitted my splitter and carbon ducts to my front bumper and it already looks loads better! Also relocated my sidelights into the indicator housings. With orange bulbs to annoy the haterz :)

Job for tomorrow - find out why there's no power to one of my sidelights! :(

What LEDs are you using for the main dial faces? So bright and crisp! Mine look like horse shit in comparison!

My ignition wasn't turned on...!!

Si: I bought a reel of white LEDs off the Bay ages ago - that's all I've used. I pulled all the clocks out of the housing and strategically laid the strips in there. Basically so every notch on the dials receives pretty equal illumination.

Time-consuming, but it looks so good in the flesh! :)

LOL. Cold start!

Si, have you got any photos of what you did?

Sadly not, mate. If you can picture this though: when all the clear and black plastic shrouds are removed, you can see the dials in the white plastic housing. All I did was to fill pretty much all the gaps between the dials with LED strips (stuck to the base of the housing) so the illumination behind the dials themselves is infinitely better than using the four stock bulbs (or, in my opinion, replacing those bulbs with LEDs).

Does that make sense?

Might have to look at LED strips myself. The gold clocks in the 99 have red illumination which look great but are lousy at night, even fully turned up.

refitted the interior

installed the miester coilover extension cables to the rear miester coilvers

re wired the stereo and removed 2 setas of cables

tucked the lady away not for too long i hope
