  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

  • Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Well today my '99 looks a bit like this...

EDIT.. Bloody iPhone, dunno why it turns some pics upside down!! The car isn't... Lol....

After a few years of neglect it needed bringing back upto the standard it needs, also been giving it a machine polish between jobs at work which is really transforming the car and I'm happy with the results and reflections!

I also bit the bullet and decided to transfer my ZED plate onto it :)

Happened because of an unknown internal fracture, so instead of the new PCV screwing in to just broke away. Lucky I have a spare plenium just not a nice clean polished one.

eerrmmm repaired some other garages balls up ...

went to see my car at the body shop today ...

stripped a sub-fame down to get powder coat ...

Those are some lovely wheels ;D

Well, they came with the car. That's all I can say. Planning some forged rims and may be drag slicks for next year...

A lot of the yanky guys use the stock 255/16" rims for drag racing.

Yeah, still not too sure what to go for. you can get some wide 17" slicks so think I might go for those. Anyway, I've plenty of time to make my mine up. More body prep and wrapping tomorrow!

I thought about getting some steels knocked up, sidewall is king with launches. I'm gonna get some runs in at the pod this summer I hope.

I adjusted the drive belts to get rid of the squealing when I floor it and it is loads better......

I then went for a little sideways action at a friends industrial estate and found out just why you need to respect a Z......

Had a bit of drizzle and was playing about seeing how she pulls away....... and well........... sort of gave my mate in the passenger seat a sudden need to change his underwear....... lol

got a bit over enthusiastic as we were on private land and completely drifted round friends unit with my mate screaming and grabbing the dash and pillar..... lol

I remember my N/A being fun....... but she is now scary...... but oh so much fun away from public places.....

I wouldn't do this on a public highway, just in case anyone gets the wrong idea..... lol

There's a time and a place for being a tit.......... lol

I also got the audio set up and my ears felt like they were in heaven again........ crystal clear, no distortion and very loud..... All I need now is the missing bass notes....... lol

I am sooooooo happy now.......:thumbup::big grin:

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Fitted the boot, took rear bumper off, wrapped the A Pillars and black wrapped the top.

For some reason I always thought your car was a shorty?! Enjoying the progress pics bud, looks like you're doing a cracking job of the wrapping. Nice one.

Did you wrap inside the targa area, ie when the targa is out wil you see any silver?

Yeah, the whole top is wrapped. only bit i did not do is around the 4 drain holes. I'll put some better pics tomorrow.

Got her thoroughly under-sealed

Don't think much to the arch repair, not seen the paper mâché technique before :tt2:

The paper mache approach is what I am trying to avoid

Nice job with the wrapping - you make it look easy! Is it?

thanks. it gets easier more you do. I started with the nose panel and then the bonnet. I'm going to redo the bonnet if i've enough vinyl left. Then the boot and pillars and the rear today. I'm sure a pro could do it all the rear end in one go but it's tricky on your own, so i'm doing it in 5 sections, rear, rear arches and the sills. It's a track car so i'm really not bothered about a few joins...

After getting the targa roof rubbers off baz I decided to recover the targa trim :) uploadfromtaptalk1395698985048.jpg

Your doing a great job considering your doing it on you own mate!!

When I used to wrap, I probably wouldn't have attempted that on my own ( but then if I had ****ed it up my boss would have killed me and I had at least 5 vans a day to do).
