  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

well im knackered clutch, flywheel, gearbox, prop shaft, all up and bolted down new oil temp and oil pressure sensor done on the engine, water matrix hoses done starter motor on going to have so yum yum then do some polishing for hour or two

I guess you're going to have these little issues for a while. Have you done a 60k services? Car's been off the road for 2 years or something, when was the main service last done?

Well done on the MOT, I bet it's strange driving it after so long!

Was fun......lol....

The engine was rebuilt about 2 years ago with new bearings, gaskets, literally everything done.... and has sat in car since then waiting to be finished and run......

The oil and filter were done a few months ago, new plugs, antifreeze, refilled transmission.....

Belt was Nissan OEM and has done 10 miles and was a full new belt kit.....

I just wish I had used a genuine Nissan water pump rather than pattern part.....

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Buy cheap....lol but seriously well done with the mot, I doubt the shit in the coolant did the poor pump any good, it's for coolant not sludge. Keep an eye on the rad now just in case it got mullered.

PASSED THE MOT.......... yay...... failed this morning on bulb out, ABS light on and front brake flexi pipes not secured.....

Came home, changed bulb, fitted rubber grommets on brake lines and found ABS sensor on o/s/f was not connected (missed reconnecting when dropped engine in).....

Went back and she sailed through.......

Then on way home had a loud bang....... water all over the road....... viscous fan wobbling everywhere and water gushing from under water pump....... aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh....

Hopefully just water pump........ but need to get underneath and have a look now..... but she is insured and MOT'd now....... next is tax disc and mend her..... lol

Good water pump..... managed to last 2 years sitting there, then 10 miles...... trying to work out what caused this to fail.....

Congrats and commiserations mate.

As others have mentioned, I wouldn't rule out all that shit you had going through your system caused your water pump failure.

I'm sure you'll get it sorted in no time and have it ready for the nice weather that's apparently heading our way.

WOW Ted...... you have been very busy........ when you collecting my parts that need polishing?...........lol

Now I need to get the damn cloth and polish out..... lol

I found the cause of my water pump failure and it appears to be the viscous coupling is bent..... fan was unbalanced and literally destroyed the water pump in 10 miles.......

Really nice mate, I agree with Ian. Interested to know how you find the new clutch and fly set up. I am waiting for my +25% one to properly dissolve before I fork out for something like the Comp Clutch 6 puck.
