MOT is coming soon and I recon I might need to do the rear brakes. What disks and pads are best to get?

 

It's a GTR 33 setup I have

Id say gtr 33 discs and pads then :tt2: :tt2:

I also have the R33 brembo setup and have DBA4000 discs with red stuff pads all round, perfectly good for road use.

I have the dba 4000's on the front. Wiper slots they are called. Do you know where's best to buy them from cheaply lol

If your running GTR fronts then select the GTR33 (324mm) in the menu. For the rears unless you changed the discs at the same time as the calipers then select 300zx in the drop down menu for the 296mm rears.

So I got to that page but the ones listed are all different sizes.

Got my full DBA setup from them at a very good price!

What? it only lists 2 types for the REARS on my link and they both the same size 300mm mate and for the fronts they all 324mm.

Sorry paul, your absolutely right. I wa thinking they were both rears - looking on my mobile... Doh!

So what's better? Slotted or drilled and slotted?

 

The drilled and slotted are cheaper but usually more expensive :-/

Why dont you go and measure yours then you will know for sure what you need,leaving the simple choice left to slots or drilled:)

So I ordered these but they had none left so have contacted me and offered some Street Series Gold disc (pic below).

Are these any good or they still worth getting? Paid £144 delivered... I'm just wondering if they are a cheaper and worse disc than the 4000 6x6 wiperslots that I ordered...

 

Dont go for the street series bud, they are basically the bottom of the range DBA's and no better than EBC's for warping

Take it you cant wait for 4000 Series slotted? Thats what id go for and what I currently run (not for much longer, got a tasty conversion in the pipeline). They took a shed load of abuse at a Goodwood track day recently and took everything i could throw at them (with DS2500 pads) Braking down from 145mph to about 50mph every couple of minutes and not a sign of warping. Every other stock sized disc ive run has warped under those conditions (EBC, 3G, Tarox)

I don't think you can get them anymore mate :(
