dont know is it possible to tap in to the sensors/ecu as you can buy the gauge on its own ...

so i would be better with that then ?

Sorry what i meant was the stock sensor is a narrow band whereas you wanted a wideband version.

I fitted one of these and it wires into the ECU wires, handy for driver knoweldge rather than tuning, but gives a good idea.

Remember our ECU's are closed loop for 1st 2000 odd revs so light sequence until then means nothing.

If you really want to go accurate and can be used whilst mapping too, i'd go for one of these

http://www.aemelectronics.com/wideband-air-fuel-systems-15/digital-wideband-air-fuel-gauge-25/

It's affordable, reliable, looks well and buying new sensors or extra sensors to add is simple.

I also fitted an EGT one in mine by apexi, but AEM probably do one as well seeing as they do one these babies

sorry to dig up a dinosaur, but is that first link a wideband? and how accurate is it in terms of detecting improper combustion etc, ie dett or lean running.

Z32bolt if your looking for a wideband maybe look at something like this eBay item no. 300506017816

Or an aem one there very accurate

I did spot that actually obviously youd have to drill and weld the boss into the exhaust preferably in a location where the gases have mixed from both sides. how would it be wired in other than that? its just an idea atm.

Yep you can get the bungs off of eBay weld the bung into the turbo elbows, not sure if there's away of monitoring both banks on one gauge though

could the ERG boss be used to mount the sensor iff you have done a delete

You don't want to use the elbows, it's too hot and the sensors won't last very long. A good place for the wideband lambda sensor is towards the end of the decats, perpendicular to the flow of exhaust gas and above the horizontal to avoid damaging the sensor due to condensation.

On my own car, I run a single wideband in the driver's side exhaust pipe, as it runs slightly leaner than the passenger side. I've hooked sensors up to both sides to check.

If you're after an AEM wideband gauge, let me know and I'll see if I can get you the best price :)
