I want to replace my rear fog light lenses with clear ones, there must be some car that has the same lenses in clear for reverse lights surely? Anybody know where I can get some or know what car may have these clear lenses?

Thanks, Dan

not sure what you mean dan post a pic on teh offending part and maybe youl get a response with better help. i know that there LED concersions which are clear when off and super bright red when on ...they take up two of the 4 reverse lights and are plug and play....

I'm sure I've seen these advertised somewhere....

however if you can't find any at all I have a friend who can manufacture them.

(we'd have to sort out some kind of group by as he would have to make about 6 sets to be worth doing) :)

Hmmm - I'd be interested in that too!

If you can rustle up enough interest don't forget to run it past Brian (Znut) first mate.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

LOL... yeah, that's cheaper and easier than just swapping some lenses and bulbs over.... :p

Afternoon all,

After receiving a mail from my old buddy Medallion Man, I thought I'd drop by and say hello. Just so happens that my hobby is making clear lenses which are unavailable elsewhere.

Some while ago, I made clear fogs for the Gen7 Celica - these are exact copies of the originals including all the factory markings

Here's a few pics which show.....

and when using tower LED's, they are rather bright.....

If there's sufficient interest, I'm sure M.Man will let me know.

Have a good weekend folks,

Richard

hey richard what are the tower leds???

clear lenses look fantastic quality btw :)

my understanding is that these are tower LED bulbs.... can be 380 or 382 (or others) and different colours...

can you get hold of a pair for me if your mate does them??

I have a jap car so dont need the lenses, want to pop these bulbs in my reverse pannel.

not had rear fogs for 3 years lol!!

do you have a link to them on ebay. i can only find one and its a 501 bulb :wack:

OK,

Now gauging interest in these units……. Some points to consider..

1 – it would be best (cheaper) for someone to supply a set of the lenses to Wolfie so that he can make the moulds required.

2 – if the units can be made as one that fits both sides then that will also help to keep costs down

3 – it would also require a minimum of 6 people to be interested before it would be work his effort in producing them ( he is willing to go into production with 4 orders, paid).

4 – first set can be produced with in one week of getting hold of the lenses to make the moulds from.

5 – the big one, a rough price on a set would be £55 delivered (best case)…. Wolfie said he would do his best to keep cost down (obviously depending on the previous points).

6 – he didn’t mention it to me but that might also include two red filament fog light bulbs (or LED's at an extra cost).

Cheers.

OK need some help here....

can anyone confirm one way or the other if the rear fog light lenses are interchangeable irrespective of the embossed writing being up side down.. just want to know it they fit.

Can someone please measure the size of the lens for me (and post it here).

It would be great if someone could also donate a set to help keep costs down... there might be a discount in it for you... alternatively supply a set very cheap (in the spirit of helping other members).

The better the condition of the lenses the better the copied units will be.

I have posted in the group buy section and would appreciate it if all interested parties could confirm.

thanks.. :)

Just a thought... but there may be more interest in a replica tail light insert (99 spec) if they're an exact copy?

LOL... yeah, I've already discussed it with him but they're just a bit too big for him to do... not to mention the cost of an item that large kind of not making it worth while either (besides I already do them out of perspex sheets).

I'm not particularly worried about it, there is nothing in it for me, it was in answer to dannyfiveforty interest in them. but thanks for trying to help.. :)
