I've just become the proud owner of some R33 GTR rears to go on my 300zx. I am under the impression that they are simply a bolt on item. (With the possibility of needing a new brake line!)

Is this correct? They come with discs and pads but I have read that they use the same disc and pad as the standard rear calipers... Now since i've read that, have I bought a pointless upgrade? Is it indeed the same setup that ive just paid money for? LOL

Also want to do the Evo Brembo upgrade, spoke to a couple of people about this and basically I'm looking to have some brackets made to suit a 350z disc. There are a couple of drawings floating about does anyone have a definate drawling. Or even fancy getting some made up :D Im sure there will be a few people who would like some too... Group buy anyone?!

I have the evo brakes but no drawing sorry they are a fairly simple bracket by the looks of them.

Change that lol, I actually scanned the brackets before fitting them, I will stick them on photobucket tonight

Hi Quavey, Funny you wrote this as i have just done mine today!! heres some pics to help you along if you were unsure of anything, I have used Evo Brembos and 350z discs for the fronts.

There are a few things you need to chop off the hub and you will need an angle grinder with a thin blade, but quite easy once you ve done one.

Chop the guard off, one cut with the grinder and twist it off

Isn't the above pic for GTR discs though? Presumbably the measurements will be different for 350Z discs?

No Phil, the drawing is for the evo brembos and 350z discs, I know this as I purchased the lot from Madmax who purchased the car from krsmayo who originally posted the drawing. if that makes sence!!

*EDIT** After reading that thread agian, it seems as if i have GTR discs? I`m confused now? what have I got 350z or gtr discs?

lol...difference between Evo Brembos and R33 GTR Brembos??

Evo Brembo's are quite a bit larger than GTR brembos.

Oh right! BUT...is that extra size (and I assume stopping power) worth it for the extra hassle of fitting?

Hard to say....but the biggest difference is price - Evo brembo's are typically a lot cheaper than the more widely known GTR brembo upgrade option. Even with the added cost of having the brackets fabricated you can save yourself a few hundred pounds.

Oh right! Thought it would be the other way around for some reason. Could be quite a profitable business for someone to knock up some brackets then surely?

Cheers guys! Thank you for the responses, I did find that diagram Legrath but it does say on the post with it that one of the dimensions is wrong. I need this to be a bolt on job so it all has to fit on the day I go for it...

Daz you legend, PM me your number, you dont fancy doing a second set some day do you? ;)

No worries mate, pop round to my house and I will do them for you, I`ve not got the hang of bleeding them yet, but the rest is easy.

If no-one comes up with the correct dimentions, i will take some measurements from mine and i could get some made if need be

ive always found gravity is the best bleeder...iff you have the time then open nipple and let gravity take over, just keep checking top up pot..do it to all my vans and trucks including the rangie,it may take an hour or so but it always iradicates air for me:yes:

note...you must let caliper hang with nipple upper most

lol daz... ya calipers are on upside down/wrong sides!

well spotted...thats why he's having issues bleeding them

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *****x  wot a cock I am!!!:asshole:

I just assumed the bleed valve needs to be at the bottom, Thanks for spotting that mate.

:blushing::blushing:

you like your women lying down or with tits on their shoulders?

I`m the tit!!

I'll be taking mine off very soon and i'll measure those up if needed for a future search..........
