i have reported it and i am also going to put a claim in for it! they may as well pay for the damage as they cant be bothered to pay for repairs to the road

Good god! How fast where you going? That is very rare for a steelie to bend! Sue the rich sods!

Mate... that is harsh.

I agree totally, the potholes are ridiculous at the moment. I know the cold snap and all that snow and ice did not help but FFs as motorists we pay an awfull ot of money to make sure that our roads are up to a decent standard.

I had a double blow out cos of a pot hole about a year ago - when i went back a few days later to take photos the sodding thing had been filled in by a local farmer who was trying to do us all a favour, but it meant that they wouldn't pay out as i couldn't prove the hole was the culprit!!!

Good luck getting your cash.

was only doing 25-30mph. think it was because of the angle i hit it as cars were parked there and it is on a bend

the same happend to me in my zed, alloy, ARB link and top arm all knackered but, the good thing is, i just got a large pay out from my insurance!!!

Happen to me in the supra about a month ago.

Driving at night and smashed the alloy to bits doing 60mph. Went back the next day to get a pic and they had filled it up :cursing:

that is insane - fookers sort our roads out we pay you £205 a year to tax are cars now sort it you robbing bitches

how do you go about claiming then? sounds like you need a picture. Hit one in my zed last week and the tyre isn't holding pressure now, my mate checked it for punctures and told me its buckled :(

Here here!!

And the modern day Dick Turpins want over £400 to tax my daily driver after this March and for what??

What has really got me in the last couple of days is that here in Buckinghamshire the repair men have actually been out......

.......but they have done a half-arsed job. Sure some of the holes are now filled in but why fix one and leave another pot hole just a metre away....

Doesn't make sense....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Well on my way to work I travel along the A607 from Grantham (Lincolnshire) to Melton Mowbray (in Leicestershire) last month the road deteriorated quite badly in certain places. Now I'm very quick to condem Leicestershire county council for their crappy roads, lack of signage and their piss-poor road management in general, but I'll give them full credit for their very speedy road repairs over the bad spell. They immediately came out and did temporary repairs and within two days they came out and did proper repairs, especially a particular 30 metre long section that was a major hazard.

Unfortunately during this time, in the dark and with on-coming traffic I managed to hit a very bad pot-hole at the side of the road (didn't see it until it was too late) and in doing so I must of damaged the CV joint in the Rover (hence my break down the other weekend)

The only problem now is that we are still having bad weather and the roads are starting to come apart again.

My sympathies to anyone who's sustained damage like this, and I hope you get it sorted and to everyone else, BE CAREFUL!!!

the money saving councils are using tarmac instead of rock asphalt...tarmac top is half the price:mad2:

Happened to me in Leeds about a year ago, buckled an alloy and bust a tyre, I wrote to leeds council after a few calls and I did get a payout, they paid for a new alloy and tyre once I provided an invoice and pics of the damage and the pothole that caused it, they filled it in a few days later.

I think of we all did it they would be much more on the ball with it and fill in holes much quicker

when i claimed a few week back, all i did was took as many pics as possible of the pot hole and the damage to my car, emailed my insurance and let them sort it out, a week later, they sent an engineer round to confirm the damage and go through invoices/estimates with me. then a cheque arived in the post the week after.

it was that easy, the longest part of it all was the wait for the parts from America :)

potholes are everywhere...on the estate where i work there is an absolute massive *******...i have to drive around it,otherwise i might fall in it and not get out.....its bloody huge!

they are very bad right now,

funny story i recall from history on the state of british roads from @1700's it was a submission to parliament on the very poor condition...it went something like this...."whilst riding from london to york i witnesses the deepest potholes and ruts i've ever seen...i stopped to pick up a hat which was left in the middle of the road and to my surprise there was a man under it...sitting on his horse!"....:D

The council did this to a pothole that is right outside my house. Needless to say it didnt last very long, it did however proceed to go all over my car though. Its a right bugger to get off as well

Theyve done this next opposite my house.Within two days it was all out + sprayed over my car. How can that be cost effective?
