Three and a half years ago i gave my car and £500 to a certain person to perform a rebuild.I supplied all the parts (Wiseco pistons,Eagle rods,Cometic Headgaskets,Tomie Cams,Greddy TD 05 18G turbos,Pentroof manifolds,AEM ECU etc etc)Then four months ago i got a phone call from him saying he was having financial difficulties and couldnt pay the rent on his unit.Now knowing from a third party my engine was complete and ready to go in i paid him a further £500.

Well after excuse after excuse i finaly had an email from him last Saturday saying that he had payed the rent up in full and was waiting for the keys and i could collect my car at that time.

Not believing this i made some inquieries of my own and spoke to the unit next door who informed me that the garage had been broken into on two occasions and the tennent when informed could not make the 3 miles becouse he had no transport.

My next move was to contact the landlord who was very obligeing and just wants the unit empty.as the rent has not been paid and he has another tennent waiting to go in.

However i am not alone here as i know of another 2 people who have parts and cars there.

I am meeting with the landlord and the police Friday morning to examin the unit and do an invitory.

I have emailed the said mechanic to be there also but with no reply.

I will keep you all informed when i return on Friday.

Right an update.

After visting the garage today i have a rough idea of what was stolen.However the place is in such a mess its hard to say about the smaller peices.

 

1.My engine complete with tubs,manifolds injectors,just about everything realy

2.2 Volk GTP wheels with brand new tyres (mine)

3. 2 Vortex wheels with new Falcon tyres (mine)

4.2 Power enterprise air filters.

 

The other cars got away quite lightly as far as i can tell with one having just the wheels taken as the turbos,pistons and con rods were still there as tyhe neighbour saw them on the floor along with my AEM ECU and Koyo rad awaiting their next trip no doubt.

Anyway the police are on the look out now but im not holding my breath.

Put a separate thread up, listing everything that was stolen..with as much detail as possible - Make, model, specification...etc and everyone will keep an eye out for any such items appearing for sale.

I agree mate, a new thread simply titled a "list of missing presumed stolen parts", and list what detail you can.

More importantly though speak with the other guys as to what maybe missing for them and list that also.

Theres 100's of members here looking out for it all for you guys.

sorry to hear this, list details pictures of those alloys, and we can then all try to post on other forums to make everyone keep an eye out.

he did not have any type of insurance cover? Maybe can claim....

i really feel for you steve, and for people to try and suger coat and hide the situation is a piss take in my eye's, you have been ripped off, no doubt about it

 

maybe they did have a break in, but why werent you informed straight away, i know one of his friends started a thread on here about where he was and i joked about them gaurding the workshop, he then mentioned about a cash flow crisis and not having electricity (i didnt know he had cashflow probs) maybe something to look into

 

really hope you get some sort of satisfaction

.....And whilst I can appreciate that sometimes shit happens (like a break-in; for instance) it would be pretty hard to steal something the size of a VG30dett engine.

 

But opinions aside (that's mine and anyone else's) I really feel for you mate. I just hope that you can get the issue resolved to your satisfaction.

With regards to some one stealing an engine.That is no problem to take. Compared to one of two steel shipping containers that was taken from outside my home.You need a big lorry with a crane to lift one of them babies. Never saw or heard a thing.

Hi Mike no i think he was advised by the police not to.

I just need him to get his head together and sort out what is mine and put it all in one place so i can collect it next week and decide what im going to do.

But its pretty difficult when i cant contact him.
