Paint Time

Basically, the red paint on my car is knackered. Looks good from a distance, but the drivers door is slightly darker, and theres a few small rust patches that need sorting out. So I have already decided to change the whole colour, and in the end it was a toss up between a straight black or white. Or olive drab

I can picture in my mind how I want my Z to look, but didn't know if I would dare to do it olive drab. A lot of you helped me out and gave me the confidence to go for it before, so I ordered a 'sample can' the other day...

and sprayed a piece of old wing I have, I must admit I LOVE IT!! Its not very easy to photograph to show the exact colour, but the finish is very uniform (thats just one coat)

What I plan is olive drab paint, dark wheels, matt black (or satin black) under the bonnet and other detailing. I know it will not be to everyone's taste, but will certainly be unique... I think if enough people say yes then I'll do it!:thumbup:

If it looks terrible, it can soon get changed again, right?

so will go from this:

nope, no lairy body mods - front splitter and rear diffuser at the very most. I've got coilovers for it too, so will sit right. I'm not bothered about having a mint shiny z - did that before. Just want something different now and enjoy it!

:lol: BARSTEWARD :tt2: damn funny though!!

Working for the MoD and dealing with these sort of colours I can tell you that any paint that is matt will show finger prints, oil marks, grease and stains. It will not polish and although it will look good initially, will soon look shite. In the case of fighting vehicles, this makes the appearance blend in better with the terrain or environment, on a private car it will look like its been vandalised. Be warned.

but on a plus it hides any small dents :-) plenty of matt black RAT look vw's in the world copping with the matt paint so i see no reason why your nissan shouldnt!
