Don't you just love it when stuff just suddenly starts working again!

The only thing that's never worked in my Z in the 4+ years I've had it is the illuminated ignition surround. Just never got round to replacing the bulb, or sorting the connection out.

Low and behold, went for a ride in the Z and hey presto! It mysteriously works!

That works on mine and the lighter surround, i got no low fuel warning light though :(

but i can judge it well :)

I reckon you accidently "fixed" it whilst changing your steering wheel! It could have been a duff connection that you simply re-connected during the process....?

Nice when it happens though:D

Richard:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

My lighter doesn't work. When I pulled all the interior out last year, I think it popped a fuse.

Richard, I didn't even take the boss off. The wheel simply unbolted from the boss.

i had this with my illuminated rear 300zx just worked one night was like winning a prize lol. bloody stopped working again now though

It only illuminates if you put the key in the right way up, must of been putting it in upside down previously.

Mines only comes on when i turn the lights on, should it come on when you open the door, seems a pointless light otherwise.

Yeah, it is a bit. What would be ideal, and I think Apache has done this, is to rig up a relay for time delay that also works with the keyfob. Make sure the ignition illumination is wired to that, so that when you pop the locks with the fob, the interior lights and ignition illumination come on.

Ididnt know they were supposed to light up ! doh ! thats this saturday afternoon planned out then. LOL

Yup, take the cowling off and you'll see a bulb holder plugged in behind the illumination ring. There's a little bulb in there.

Back on topic regards stuff not working, i've had my 300 6 years and the cruise control never worked, i'd checked all the diags and relays to no avail, then when groover did my LED conversion i got a better condition right side pod and it worked, it was the pod all along, must have been a faulty switch. Don't you just love free fixes.
