it's terrible news. i live in grimsby, which is about 20mins drive to s****horpe which is one of the plants they are making redundancies from. In the last 2 weeks 3 fairly big companies in the area have made large redundancies. i think over the last 2 weeks nearly 400+ people in my area have been made redundant. according to the local paper there are now 4,505 unemployed in grimsby alone now. we'll have no manufacturing plants left in the uk at this rate.

Hi, i'm across the other side in Hull and we have the same problem re. caravan manufacturing, just as a point of interest is there anyone on your side who could fit an engine into a 300tt ?

It's bad anyway. But, on a plus side to it, I see a lot of my customers whos order books are actually getting bigger and instead of predicting negative growth are actually predicting growth over last year.

 

There is still a lot of manufacturing in the UK, but the big multi-nationals get hit the hardest as they tend to be run by shareholders.
