hi all first post so thought id say hi :D:D

 

am very new to these jap cars only ever owned one prior to this and that was a swift gti ,which was an eye opener to say the least lol :nana2::nana2:

 

heard about my current buy (fairlady z tt)through a friend was told had been sitting there for a while ,anyway went to see it and it looked ok so i got it very cheaply :dance:

 

my first question is does anyone know of it the reg is c 300 x lol nice plate i know hehehe:mac1:

 

to be honest im a ford lad through and through ( i own 3 cosworths)

 

and was a bit dissapointed in its performance btw its a twin turbo import but is auto sadly (may convert it in future if easy)

 

feels very sluggish and not sure what to expect after my cosworths ,im sure there is room for improvement just not sure were to start ???

 

think its in std setup as still has 112mph limiter as i found on way to mot today (on my private grounds lol)

boost is displayed in hg as apposed to psi which im used to ...

so what is 7hg on the dash in psi????

also is there any room for improvement through tightening actuator rods????

 

im looking for any info on the car reg no is c300x

and also cheap tuning mods keeping it semi reliable lol:cry::cry:

will sort the usual induction/filter kit

already has a stainless

can you get adjustable actuators or am i best buying a boost controller setup???

 

any ideas would be peachy thanks

I think the most common way to raise the boost is to drop boost jets (mig tips0.1mm ) in the vacuum lines which iirc fools the actuator into staying open longer? or electronic boost controller is the more obvious option but costs more. hope this helps

If its been sat for a while then it might have issues with poor running, need to get it checked out, tuning wise depends on your wallet.

Did the reg plate C300X come with it? if so your very very lucky.

Any boost upgrades will require a chipped ECU, you cannot remap these buggers, and usual upgrades consist of filter/exhaust/chip and some decat (known to make turbo seals go on old cars), and either boost jets (1.0mm for 14-15PSI or 1.2mm for 11-12PSI) or an EBC (standard tubs can only take 15PSI. These should give you between 50-80BHP extra,

 

Then comes the mods of 555cc injectors/bigger SMIC or FMIC's and bigger tubs (which are an engine out jobby) which give between 400-450BHP. after that its usually internals which need uprating

hi mate and wellcome...a chip,apexi filter and a couple of boost tips or a boost controler and she will be like another car with about a 80 bhp increase:cool: Before upping the boost your best checking the motor,belts including cam belt is up to scratch and dont forget to feed her V power fuel from your local shell as they like the best octane you can buy

I would imagine mate that best stick a pic or 2 up, we may know the car if we see what it looks like, but also where abouts did you buy it from ? and where about you from so we can help with future advice.

cheers lads the reg was on the car ( c300 x ) looks nifty

yes its running roughly at the moment but have already changed oil and filter

put some nice new iridium plugs in and checked belts etc all is fine :cool::cool:

 

the reg may be for sale as i have my own plate to go on it from one of my cossies so may be open to offers if anyone fancy,s it???

 

im from the merseyside area aswell saw another 300 go past the mot station whilst mine was getting its mot ..... was black

 

mine is grey metallic????? not sure if lwb or swb how do i tell

all i know is its a targa top auto tt????

to be honest only got it as you dont see many and i like that hence the cossy,s

have to be honest its so simple tuning a cossy compared to these by the sounds of it

any guides to these tuning tips placement (mig tips)????

 

only looking to up the boost slightly maybe 12psi perhaps to wake her up :smash:

also hicas light flashes up occasionally is it worth buying a lockout bar as it looks a troublesome deal that hicas malarky???

yes it does sort of have rear seats look like little midget bucket seat things lol with a lap belt across ....so this means its lwb???
